As a result of time development and social demands, personality tests are facing higher and higher standard of demands. However, the subjective methods being applied by the tests, questionnaire tests for example, can no longer meet the demands in practice. Under such circumstances, work tests characterized by their quickness, simplicity and objectivity in identifying information such as the ability, personality and activity of subjects would no doubt play an important rule. Among the work tests of various kinds, Uchida—Kraepelin Psychodiagnostic Test is most extensively used. According to the test, subject is required to work continuous addition. By analyzing the work curves, the test can get great amount of information relating to the psychological character of the subject, thereby identifying his/her character, temperament and even intelligence despite his/her nationality, race and cultural background. Nevertheless, the methods in analyzing and evaluating the work curves are somewhat complicated. Lacking objective criterions in analyzing and evaluating, classifying the work curves of the test falls back on the experiences of testers. This flaw makes it difficult to be popularized and leaves a room for its improvement.Following the basic principles of Kraepelin's Continuous Addition, this study is an endeavor to the drawing up of a Continuous Addition Work Test characterized by scientificateness and objectivity based on the objective operation pattern developed by Uchida—Kraepelin Psychodiagnostic Test. In order to distinguish the work from other Kraepelin Psychodiagnostic Tests, this study names the test after the name of theauthor------ SK—Kraepelin Psychological Test. It has two editions: complete editionA whose administration is work for 16 minutes—rest for 5 minutes—work for 16 minutes and simplified edition B which need only work for 16 minutes. Through a preliminary study on more than 2900 subjects, this study get the average work curve and level of work amounts of every age group. The study have found out that in its earlier stage, the shape of the work curve by each age group is generally looks like a 'U' and in its later stage a curve declining right-oriented. The average level of work amounts in its later stage is higher than in its earlier stage with an orientation that the more of the work amounts the elder of the age of the subjects. Actually, there is a significant difference in the average level of work amounts by subjects of different sexes and ages. All of these demonstrates that SK- Kraepelin Psychological Test is incomply both with the basic principles and the demands of Kraepelin's Continuous Addition. In the main time, the test bears a good re-measure reliability and validity as well, which hits the demands of Psychometrics.Based on the changing patterns of work curve, this study advances an objective index known as "Work Quotient", which can be viewed as a new exploration. With the assistance of work quotient, we can develop a general knowledge about the distribution of the work curves by the subjects as well as the suitability and deviation degree of the standard work curves, thereby inferring whether the basic psychological functions of individual are generally coordinated or not. By taking work quotient as the main criterion for evaluation and Eysenck Personality Questionnaire and as well the experimental data concerning simple reaction time, attention concentration, movement stability and tapping as index of validity, this study verify several measurable index of the early and ending stage of work curves as well as fluctuation, e.g. the first minute work quotient, the fifteenth minute work quotient and the rate of fluctuation, which are valid in detecting the main characteristics of work curve and therefore valid in reflecting the character of relevant integral personality and behavior. The test has shown the measurable index based on Work Quotient is not only objective and simple, but are bearing the important information needed in identifying the character of human personality. Based...
