Category is the basic cell of Chinese ancient articles and opinions.It is the thought crystallization of the network which is in the whole articles and opinions "yun" is one of the key categories of Chinese ancient articles and opinions, which has very abundant intension. This text is the first overall research to "yun" category and the category community which takes "yun" as the core.This text is divided into two parts: First part and Second part. And takes the way of combining history with theory.The first part include five chapters: aesthetics opening in the Wei dynasty and the Jin dynasty; aesthstic gradual progress in the Tang Dynasty; aesthetics ripe in the Song dynasty, the Jin dynasty and the Yuan dynasty; aesthetics spreading exhibition in the Ming Dynasty; aesthetics conclusion in the Qing Dynasty. The five parts form the aesthetic gentle historical process of the "yun" category. This text thinks that the aesthetic host of the "yun" category lies in the word source of the three words: "he", "yin" , " jun" . The "yun" category is introduced into the poetic field in the Tang Dynasty in which the important point of the category transforms from the subjective thing in the Wei and Jin Dynasty to the objective thing. The aesthetic idea which unifies thing and people shapes. The "yun" category one experiences the course of the change from being brief to being abundant in the Song Dynasty. The representatives are SuShi and HuangTingJian, who opens up the aesthetic function of the "yun" category in many aspects with other scholars. On this basis, FanWen defines the caterory in different fields such as aesthetic intension, aesthetic feeling classification, creating mechanism and even subject requirement. Thus the independent and intact syetem of the "yun" category structures. And the "yun" category becomes the highest aesthetic category. In the Southern Song Dynasty, the Jin Dynasty and the Yuan Dynasty, Zhangjie and other scholars revise and reinvent the opinions of FanWen from different angle, thus make the meaning of the "yun" category possess the possibility that cangrows in multi-layer. In the Ming Dynasty the theory of the "yun" category nearly appearing as the opposite of the theory of formalism. During the time, the implication of literature and the aesthetic feeling content are emphasized. The scholars, such as HuYingLin and LuShiYong, criticize the back-to - the-ancients theary. So the "yun" category has been all expanded thoroughly in such aspects as the aesthetic feeling content of top layer ahd aesthetic noumenon of the "yin" . In the Qing Dynasty, the meaning of the "yun" category is summarized mainly reflecting in the completion aesthetic intension and the summary of aesthetic creation. In addition, in the Qing Dynasty, the scholars such as WangShiZhen, YuanMei and WengFangGang, have the understanding of their era in aesthetic feeling content, attribute and category community. So they improves the aesthetic system of the "yun" category finally.The second part include four chapters which expound the category community taking "yun" as the core category and make a concrete analysis to "QiYun" , "GeYun" and "ShenYun" . This text thinks:The category community of "yun" can be divided into three kinds of classifications from macroscopic to microcosmic in terms of grade of category. The main part of them can analyse three aspects: neutral shape , top layer shape, deep layer shape. They develops mainly in logic relation. The "QiYun" category is ripe early. Its aesthetic intension has corresponding extension rin different eras. The "GeYun" category takes shape in the Song Dynasty mainly. And the combination of "Ge" and "Yun" has inherent spiritual line of reasoning and aesthetic link. The open-up of the "ShenYun" category is in the Ming and Qing Dynasties mainly, which includes the contents of the different aspects. As to whole, it is the total of an artistic result of the literary works; As to the system of the articles and opinions, it points to the aesthetic realm and the aesthetic interest and charm of the literary works, sometimes it is a specific aesthetic characteristic As to its own aesthetic intension , its inside intension, posture and artistic conception are shown by "YuYi" , "ShengDong" and "QingYuan" separately.
