The Three-city Literature "urban Local" Space To Imagine

The dissertation concerns the naissance and maturity of spatial city- or metropolis-homeland imagination and the vicissitude of city narration in Shanghai, Taipei and Hong Kong literature in 1980's and in 1990's. On the basis, it investigates the situation shifts from one aspect that the 20th century Chinese literature began its city narration from the country narration, and then discusses the significance of the maturity of three cities' metropolis literature in Chinese literature.Metropolis is not only an image, or a place or background where stories occur or characters move about, but also an independent life body and self-sufficient space out of country, which has its own life experience, history memory and cultural personality. It not only has common material and spiritual views, but also has particular characteristics what its homeland contains. Therefore, the mature metropolis imagination should have space consciousness, and goes deep into inner spaces to present its characteristics besides common images.Shanghai Literature, Union Literature and HK Literature in three cities have model meaning in each city's literature history, and each journal is an important part of the literature history in each area. It's favorable to grasp the development and changes of three cities' literature.The main body of the dissertation is divided into three parts. The first part is to investigate the naissance and changes of city imagination in three cities' literature in 1980's, the second part puts forward the concept of Metropolis-homeland, and the third part discusses the mature forms of the spatial imagination of metropolis-hometown in three cities' literature since 1990's.The first part (Chapter 1) reviews the city imagination in these three literature periodicals, and explores the urbanization degree and the appearance of metropolis-homeland imagination in three cities' literature.
