On the stage of modern China, Liang Qichao is a person who is influential but also controversial. The most criticized part of his theory is 'Fluidity'. There was simplistic and conceptualized and absolute tendency in the research on 'fluidity' in the Chinese academia from the beginning. Since the late 1970s, people have gradually amended their concept on the phenomenon of 'fluidity', but problems still remain. The major deficiency is lack of theoretical depth in relevant research. In fact, 'fluidity' is not an unique phenomenon come from Liang Qichao but a universal phenomenon in the period of social transformation of China, which is worthy of theoretical research. I recognized Chinese literature in the transforming period showed the prominent feature equally, but what is the relationship between Liang Qichao's 'fluidity' and the modernity of Chinese literature in the period of society transformation? Therefore, I bring in the discourse 'fluidity' the research area and reference of Zygmunt Bauman's Liquid Modernity theory to determine the 'fluidity' with the meaning and which category it belongs to, so that Liang Qichao's 'fluidity' is placed into the vision of study in modernity. Having evaluated the modern meanings of 'fluidity', I further identified the relationship between Liang Qichao's 'fluidity' and the modernity of Chinese literature in that period.
