The Manchu and the Mongolian languages belong to the Altaic Language Family, and the comparison between the two kinds of languages has been one of the emphasizes of the comparative study of the Altaic languages for a long time. Before, the foreign scholars has done a lot in this field and made much achievement but until now, there hasn't been a monograph on it.This article will discuss and distinguish a part of cognates in the Manchu and Mongolian languages, in the way of historical comparison and etymological explanation, on the basis of abundant documentary materials language group materials, in view of extant study achievements.The article is made up of five components.Chapter One, preface, we introduce the general situations and developments of the studies in this field, trying to expound the objects, purposes and the significance of our study. By the way, tell the readers the studying methods and sources of materials.Chapter Two, study of loan words between the Manchu and the Mongolian written languages. In this part, the author begins with the historical contact between the Manchurians and the Mongolians, using abundant analysis of language materials, distinguishes the loan words between the Manchu and the Mongolian languages from each other objectively, and makes a deep study in them.Chapter Three, study in the Manchu and the Mongolian cognates. Using the methods of historical comparison, comparatively studies some of the semantic groups in the Manchu and the Mongolian languages. We have discovered that, there are much more cognates in the names of nationalities, positions and directions, colors, birds , domestic animals and parts of human body. These cognates offer strong proves to not only the same source relations but also the historical and culture of the Manchurians and the Mongolians.Chapter Four, study of the correspondence of pronunciations of the Manchu and the Mongolian languages. On the basis of the studies in the foregoing context, this chapter, the authors discusses the correspondences of consonants and the phenomena of dropping of pronunciations and syllables in Manchu and the Mongolian languages.Chapter Five, this are the concluding remarks, to summarize the whole article and draw a conclusion.This article provided the view of the author himself in the field of loan words and cognates textual criticism.
