Research On Origins For Names In Notes To The Nomination

The dissertation is a systematic study of the origins of names in Notes to Nomination written by Liu Xi in East Han Dynasty from four aspects: sketch, pronunciation, semantics and evaluation of explanations of the origins of names.The chapter "The Sketch of the Origins of Names" first casts a backward glance at the evolution of the term "the origins of names", and establishes the links and differences between origins of names and etymology.
