Evenki and Mongolian belong to different branches of Altaic language family. Both ofthem have some identical elements and differentiate each other in some features. Thepresent dissertation conducts research on phonological and morphological commonelements of nominal in the languages by the method of historical comparativelinguistics. First of all, the present dissertation describes the phonetic system ofEvenki language, and verifies the phonetic correspondences with Mongolian.Secondly, a comparative research between some morphological forms of nominal inEvenki and Mongolian is made in the work. At the same time, further explorations ofthe development and origins of the forms are also made.Chapter one is an introduction, content of which includes the history of Evenkipeople, general information of the language, and the historical relations betweenEvenki and Mongolian people. A main content in this chapter is the research history athome and abroad. Research methods and sources are given as well.Chapter two is a detailed description of phonetic system of Evenki language,based on field work by the present author. On the basis of the description, thedissertation conduct comparative research on vowels and consonants of the concernedlanguages, and the corresponding relations of them are checked further making gooduse of fruit of Mongolian language studies.Chapter three focuses on the comparison between some morphological commonelements of nominal in Evenki and Mongolian, including suffixes of the grammaticalcategories of "number", "case", and "possessive and reflexive forms". The originalrelations between them and their historical development are also traced.Chapter four is a summary of content of the dissertation, outlining results of theresearch.
