With the arrival of internet,children's growth environment had changed greatly. Adolescents' behavior of internet use and the internet itself as a new learninging tool, cultural carrier and social media,would probably widely influence their cognitive skills, conceptual development,cognitive ability(involved logical thinking ability,analogical and reflective thinking ability,reasoning ability,reading ability,et al),academic achivement and criticizing thinking ability and et al.The present study investigated more than 4000 adolescents by using a verity of research method of literature analysis,interview,Delphi and questionnaire.This study used statistical methods of factor analysis,path analysis,and hierarchical regression, developed Adolescents' Internet Use Preference Qestionnaire and Adolescents' Information Skills Evaluation Questionnaire,investigated the current condition and characters of adolescents' internet use,and explored the effect of internet use on information skills,reading ability and academic achivement,and also explored the effect mechanism of internet use preference on academic achivement.The conclusions were the following:1.The development of Adolescents' Internet Use Preference Qestionnaire and Aolescents' Information Skills Evaluation Questionnaire:(1)There were 3 dimensions with regard to adolescents' internet use preference, which were:information communication preference,recreational preference,and information acquisition preference.The adolescents' internet use preference questionnaire had high reliability and validity,which met the surveying requirement and could be used in further study.(2)There were 3 dimensions with regard to adolescents' information skills,which were:information acquisition skills,information processing skills,information application skills.The adolescents' information skills evaluation questionnaire had good reliability and validity,which met the surveying requirement and could be used in further study.2.The demographcial differences in internet-time(the total time spent on internet every week),internet use preference and infromation skills:(1)In primary school,boys' internet-time was more than girls'.Girls' internet-time increased with the rising of grade. (2)Totally,adolescents' information communication preference showed an increasing trend when students move forword from grade 4 to grade 8.Girls of grade 6, grade 7,grade 8 got higher information communication preference scorces than boys. Boys got higher recreational preference scores than girls and Girls' information acquisition preference score were higher than boys'.(3)Information skills score increased with the rising of grade.The score of information application skills of girls was higher than the score of boys.Girls of grade 7 got higher scores than boys in information skills,information acquisition skills, information processing skills,and information processing skills scores of boys of grade 4. grade 5,and grade 6 were higher than the scorces of girls.3.The effect of internet use preference on information skills and reading ability:(1)Adolescents' information acquisition preference,information communication preference and recreational preference had direct positive effect on information skills.(2)Father's education moderated the effect of communication preference on information skills.When father's education was higher,the active effect that communication preference imposed on adolescents' information skills was bigger than that when father's education was lower.(3)Primary students' recreational preference had direct negative effect on reading ability.4.The effect mechanism of internet-time and internet use preference on school achivement:(1)Those who spent moderate time on internet had better Chinese achivement,math achivement and English achievement than those who seldom use internet.(2)Father's education moderated the effect of internet use preference on school achivements:when father's education was lower,the higher the information acquisition preference,the better the English achivement was.When father's education was lower, recreational preference imposed more seriously negative effect on adolescents' Chinese achivement compared with those whose father's education was higher.(3)Information acquisition preference and information communication preference had positive effect on Chinese,math,English achivements.Information skills mediated the effect of information acquisition preference and information communication preference on Chinese and English achivements.And reading ability mediated the effect of information skill on Chinese achivement and mediated the effect of information skill on math achivement.(4)Recreational preference had negative effect on students' Chinese,math,English achivements.Reading ability mediated the effect of recreational preference on students' math achivement.And Chinese achivement mediated the effect of recreational preference on math and English achivements.Based on the above findings,the present study proposed relative advices on adolescents' educational practice,and also pointed out the limitation of this study and the directions for future research.5.The fit indexs of the model of internet use preference influencing academic achivement in primary school students were very good.The model objectively showed the relationship within those variables.
