This thesis aims at categorizing, analyzing and re-explaining studies of biblical allusions in the latest thirty years in China and attempts to put forward objective appraisals on the values and deficiencies of these studies. More accurately speaking, the thesis will focus its main points on analyzing the translation values, linguistic values and literary values of those studies mentioned above, as well, the author will point out some deficiencies in some of the studies of biblical allusions on blurring or overlapping concepts, obstructing communications between different disciplines and some repeated opinions. In light of this, the author anxiously hopes that comments and ideas in this thesis will, in some aspects, be a reference for evaluating studies of biblical allusions. Furthermore, allow itself to be an example of reexplaining biblical allusions studies. In the meanwhile, the author hopes that this thesis will provide a record for interpositioning studies on rhetoric into literary and translation studies, so that testify that it will be possible to make a research on both source text and target text of biblical allusions when we undertake linguistic and cultural exchanges between eastern and western world.
