Study On GuangYaShuZheng

Wang Niansun(王念孫) is the leader of Qianjia school. GuangYa ShuZheng(廣雅疏證)is his representative book which embodys his advanced exegetical thoughts"the sounds similar,the meanings in harmony"(音近義通)and scientific method"obtaining the words'meaning according to their pronunciation"(因聲求義).Therefore GuangYaShuZheng becomes the most famous exegetical works in Qing Dynasty. Syudy on GuangYaShuZheng has important significance to the correct understanding of ancient classics,exploring to exegetical method and the study of dictionarys.This paper analysises the words in GuangYaShuZheng according to ancient books,and then put forward my own point of view.This paper consists three pars——introduction,six chapers of main body and conclusions.The first part is introduction.we summarize the main content and current situation of researching on GuangYaShuZheng. In this book Wang Niansun proofread the corruption in GuangYa(廣雅)carefully according various books that he gathered,and gave it a profound illustration.At the same time Wang Niansun espand broad linking according to the principle of extension,interpreted a lots language phenomenon in exegesis on ancient books and dictionaries, investigate and summarize some language regular pattern. It truly achieved the goal of"showing the broad way to people on the basis of ZhangYi's book". Until now, although many scholars have studied GuangYaShuZheng following collation and exegesis, the study on it is still insufficient relative to its important value. Thereare also many work need to be done. In addition,introduction also accounts the reason of topic and the study approach.Main body, from the second chapter to the seventh chapter, analyzed the unresolved and the wrong words linking ancient books by comparison to complement the lack in GuangYaShuZheng and GuangYaShuZhengBuzheng(廣雅疏證補正). Furthermore,we put forward our own point about some questions in it.The second chapter and the third chapter respectively choose JingYiShuWen (經義述聞) and DuShuZaZhi(讀書雜誌)to analyze the terms that are valuable to complement GuangYaShuZheng. JingYiShuWen is a result on books belonged to confucian classics that Wangyinzhi(王引之)repeats his father's view in it. DuShuZaZhi is a result that Wangniansun researched to books belonged to"ZiBu"(子 部)and"JiBu"(集部).Two books all reflect his strict attitude to scholarship and his subtlety of achievement. This paper gathers the materials are concerning of GuangYa and compares with them that are in GuangYaShuZheng. After selection we obtain three kinds of terms: first, that supplement unresolved words in GuangYaShuZheng; second, that supplement words have been resolved in it;third,that correct the wrong exeplanation in it (there are also wrong exeplanation to GuangYaShuZheng in JingYiShuWen ). Some category also can been classified to smaller kinds. This paper add comment to illustrate the material for comparison how to complement to GuangYaShuZheng.The forth chapter research that GuangYaGuLin(廣雅詁林) how to complement GuangYaShuZheng. GuangYaGuLin includes result between Wang Niansun's and 1949. this paper list and analyze the terms that Wang's unresolved but other scholars have recommendation, or Wang's has resolved but other scholars have different view, to explor the meaning of the words in GuangYa. This chapter research on GuangYaGuLin complement GuangYaShuZheng from unresolve,solved and wrong explanation. At the same time, because scholars'knowledge or negligence there are many wrong explanations in GuangYaGuLin, so this paper also include wrong explanations in it, furthermore proposes textual criticism .Thefifth chapter investigates terms that GuangYaShuZhengBuzheng quoted from JiYun(集韻),WenXuanLiShanZhu(文選李善注),XuanYingYinYi(玄應音義).these terms are very valuable to proofing of GuangYa today, also supplement the content of GuangYa. These terms are also valuable to revise quotations that JiYun quote from GuangYa.The sixth chapter mainly research that GuangYaShuZheng's study on FangYan(方言) and ShuoWen(說文). Wang Niansun attach importance to study GuangYa using FangYan and ShuoWen. There are many sentences"the word in GuangYa comes from FangYan""the word in GuangYa comes from ShuoWen in GuangYaShuZheng. Wang's generally quotes FangYan or ShuoWen at first to annotate GuangYa. In GuangYaShuZheng there are many points about study on FangYan and ShuoWen,they are valuable to study this two books. This paper sorts out these materials for further researching.The seventh chapter includes our study on parts of words in. We reference scholar's new result, integrate document data,then put forward our own point. It consists addition and corrections. The conclution mainly indicates some questions that are unsolved in this paper. E.g, combining new results on Chinese lexical history study to research new meaning in GuangYa;Combining unearthed material and modern Chinese dialects corpuses to note the meaning that unknown; Some documentary evidences being quoted in GuangYaShuZheng have many questions. Wang's points a lots interchangeable characters in GuangYaShuZheng, but some should to be checked. It is a very difficult work to check these interchangeable characters. In the process of explanation Wang's Excellively use deduction to derived the meaning of word, we should analyze these terms to screening if they are right.
