This thesis is focused on analysis of pension system from the angle of view of industrialization. Industrialization requires two major structure transformations. One is the economic structure transformation, which is typified by industrial economic structure. Another is the social structure transformation, which is typified by population structure. Along with rapid economic growth resulted from industrialization, transfer of workforce from agriculture to non-agriculture, and migration of population from countryside to cities had been enhanced. Therefore, social security system replaced family care and became an almost solution. Combining with process of global industrialization, this thesis expounds the viewpoints and theories of economics of pensions and the converting history of pension system in western countries, analyzes the current situation and future trends of international pension systems. Based on the foresaid expounding and analysis, together with changing factors, such as population and economy, in process of China industrialization, this thesis stresses three major problems encountered by China pension system: population aging, dually social and economic structures and invisible pension debts. Furthermore, thesis advances a clear viewpoint that the mixed mechanics of PAYG (pay-as-you-go) and funds system has enormous theoretic and practical meaning in China urban pension system.. Finally, learning through international experiences and according to conditions in China, the thesis proposes a comprehensive framework of China pension system, which is dual and has 5 levels,7 pillars.
