As people explore the humanitarian aspects of social development, the issue of justice enters into the horizon of social development research. Lack of justice has to a certain degree undermined the development of society. This dissertation puts the issue of justice into the scenario of social development and explores the issue from the perspective of social philosophy, which gives the dissertation certain theoretical value. Also, putting the issue of justice into the scenario social development and examining its impact upon China and globalization have much realistic and practical significance. The dissertation is composed of introduction, body and conclusion. The body section consists of 5 chapters. The introduction examines the historic evolution of the idea of justice, then explains the theoretical and practical value of the topic. The methodology employed by the author and the perspectives from which the author views the issues are also being provided here. The body section consists of 5 chapters. The first chapter: the issue of justice: its position and function in social development. The term justice is defined and its difference with fairness, equality is being distinguished. The essence of social development is being contemplated, with society being regarded as the subject of development and with justice being regarded as the core value in the quest for social development. Justice is the criteria for judging the quality of social development. As a value evaluation, justice can serve society critically, constructively and adjustably. The criteria for evaluating justice include objective and subjective ones, which should be put together to form a comprehensive evaluation system. The second chapter: phasenization of social development and dilemma of justice. Social development and justice can be mutually embodying and mutually advancing. Yet social development can also contradict justice. This leads to the duality, relativity, and complexity of justice. Justice can be prescriptive and realistic. What is real is rational. There can be no absolute justice. Only in modern society can exist the combination of prescriptive and realistic justice. The complexity of justice deprives from the variety of sectors in which justice exists and the contradictory relationship between institution content and institution format. The third chapter: the various sectors in which justice exists in modern society. As society develops, justice expands into more sectors. Economic justice is the fundamental sphere which on one can evade. Political justice and cultural justice are basic sectors. New sectors where justice emerges is environment and internet. Environmental justice demands equality between humans and nature, and stresses the harmonious and sustainable development of nature and friendly exploitation of natural resources on the part of developed and developing countries. Internet justice requires fair use of, equal share of, and equal participation in the internet resources. The fourth chapter: the realization of justice in i modern society.
