With the development and diffusion of information technology (IT) in broader business practices, the problem of how to improve the degree of user acceptance and usage of IT becomes one of the new emergent focuses in information management field. As the terminal users of information technology, individuals' effective IT usage in daily works determine the actual effects of IT.Understanding why people accept or reject computers has proven to be one of the most challenging issues in information systems research. Existing literature provides a helpful foundation to understand the user acceptance or rejection behavior. The impact mechanism of individual's belief and attitude on user's behavioral intention and actual decision results is proposed and then statistically supported by many empirical researches, which illustrate the possible reason of user acceptance or rejections finely. However, illustration is not the terminal objective of research, what we are expecting in research is to find 'the operational rules of how and why' based on the findings of 'factors of what'. Based on these existing findings on individual user's acceptance and rejection behavior, this dissertation aims to explore IS user's reaction on new systems and then put forward the methods and measures to improve user acceptance.This research is developed after a critical literature review on two theory streams, user acceptance behavior theory and IS implementation success theories. In addition, as the supplement of these theories, innovation diffusion theory, social psychology, organizational behavior theories are further referred to explain the individual behaviors better. At the first part of this dissertation, a comprehensive factors model is presented to describe the relationships between belief, attitude and usage intention, after a deep theoretical analysis on user acceptance and usage process. In second part, the individual IT usage process is further integrated with organizational IS implementation framework, which can provide systematic solution for improving the user acceptance management. Finally, research findings from two research streams, IS implementation success and comprehensive IT acceptance behavior, are integrated as a unified framework, which is helpful for Chinese enterprises' implementation of user IT acceptance management.The contributions of this dissertation cover three areas.
