For more than 30 years after reform and opening-up, profound changes have taken place in Chinese society, which has had a great influence on values of moral education in contemporary China, and made theory and practice of moral education have fundamental changes. It has a guidance and leading role in theory and practice of moral education combing and studying the main locus of changes on values of Chinese moral education since the reform and opening-up to construct the harmonious moral education values of a harmonious social development.Based on the historical changes on values of moral education since 30 years after reform and opening-up, this study explored and studied the basic theory on values of moral education, e.g., its nature, characteristics and function, etc. In order to better understand and interpret the development and change on values of moral education since reform and opening-up, this paper divided the change of the values on moral education into three main developmental stages, which were the period of opening-up, the period of paradigm shift and the period of harmonious society construction in Chinese society. This paper elaborated the impact on the theory and practice of moral education made by the instrumental values, the leading values of moral education in the period of opening-up of Chinese society, analyzed the rationality and disadvantage about the instrumental values of moral education. It put forward that the humanism values of moral education in the paradigm shift of Chinese society overcome the abuse of the instrumental values of moral education, demonstrated the impact on the theory and practice of moral education made by the humanism values of moral education, and also analyzed the significance and limitation of the humanism values of moral education. It advanced the harmonious moral education values in constructing Chinese harmonious society was the pursuit of the theory and practice of moral education. The important expounded content in this paper is the harmonious moral education values, which represents the trends of moral education values in contemporary China, is the theoretical and practical aim of the development of moral education values.This paper evolved four parts as follows:Chapter I discussed the nature, characteristics and function of moral education values on the view of value philosophy of moral education. It demonstrated moral education values was the focus question of moral education, expounded the basic theoretical question about value, values and moral education values, researched the theoretical base and practical origin of moral education values. It explored that moral education values had the nature of the unity between pluralism and monistic of value, the unity between individual values constructiveness and social values uniformity, the unity between transcendentality and objectivity of. It demonstrated that moral education values had the basic characteristics of the unity between temporal rheology and relative stability, the unity between individuality and sociality, the unity between nationality and universality. It clarified that moral education values had the function of specification, transcendence, identity and guidance.Chapterâ…¡discussed the modern shift of the instrumental values of moral education in the period of opening-up of Chinese society. This part combed the contradiction and confusion in the process of values shift from history and reality, demonstrated that moral education values break gradually single political value orientation and formed the multiple coexistence of the political, economic and cultural value during the process of modern shift. It elaborated the profound impact on the theory and practice of school moral education made by the instrumental values of moral education, which caused the scientific orientation in moral education, the coming-into-being of instrumentally rational persons and utilitarian moral education. The instrumental values of moral education could not adapt the fundamental demands of modern education to develop students, so it is historical necessity that the instrumental values of moral education shift to the humanism values of moral education.Chapter III demonstrated the formation and development of the humanism values of moral education in the shift period of Chinese society. This part elaborated the modern implication of the humanism values of moral education, demonstrated the modern meaning of the instrumental values of moral education shifting to the humanism values of moral education, and elaborated the influence of the humanism values on the theory and practice of moral education. It analyzed that the formation and development of the humanism values of moral education was restricted by the social background in the shift period of Chinese society, humanism trend of thought, the theory of subjective education and quality-oriented education, the value pursuit of humanistic spirit and the orientation of the moral education policies. It elaborated the positive significance of the humanism values of moral education, and put forward that the humanism values should be rationally abrogated. Because of the limitation caused by the humanism values of moral education during the cause of development, constructing Chinese harmonious society need pursue the harmonious moral education values.Chapter IV expounded the pursuit of the harmonious moral education values in constructing Chinese harmonious society. This part stated the core values in the construction of the harmonious society, analyzed the missing of harmony in the harmonious moral education values and its root causes, and put forward that the basic contents of the harmonious moral education values were the harmony between man and society, man and nature, and self harmony. It expounded the theoretical and practical construction of harmonious moral education. The theoretical construction of harmonious moral education is to form the value orientation of multiple value coexistence, i.e., the unity of instrumental rationality and value rationality, the unity of public value and individual value, the unity of relative value and ultimate value under the guidance of core value ideology of justice, humanity, freedom and harmony. It discussed the value pursuit of harmonious spirit in the construction of harmonious society and put forward the practical strategy of harmonious moral education.Through analyzing historically and actually on moral education values since more than 30 years after reform and opening-up from the instrumental values to the humanism values to harmonious moral education values, The paper reflected rationally on the instrumental values and the humanism values during the change process of moral education values in China, put forward that the basic content and value pursuit of the harmonious moral education values in constructing harmonious society, and made the modern construction on the harmonious moral education values from theory and practice.The main aim of combing and considering the change of Chinese moral education values since more than 30 years after reform and opening-up from history and realty is to construct the developmental tendency of moral education values based on social development in contemporary China, to use the harmonious moral education values to guide the development of the theory and practice of moral education.
