The Research On Conversation And Development Of The Legacy Of The 29th Olympic Games In Beijing

The closing of Beijing Olympic Games doesn't mean the end of other activities and research related to the Olympic Games. Due to the combination of ardent desire of generations, Beijing Olympic Games is a crystal of human's wisdom and effort from various nationalities and people of all fields. Successfully biding, preparing and hosting Beijing Olympic Games left China, the world and the Olympic Games rich intangible heritage. Making a good conservation and development of intangible heritage of the Beijing Olympic Games is not only connected with the revival of Chinese traditional culture but also related to the demands of the sustainable development of the modern Olympic movement. And the most important is that it is in relation to the achievement of the goal about China's socialist modernization construction and the rapid peaceful development of China.Based on the theory about sociology, culturology, heritage and other theories, and adopted the methods of literature, expert interview, logical analysis and case analysis and so forth, this paper discussed the concept of intangible heritage about the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, the subject and object of its conversation and development and the principles and strategies of conservation and development and so on.It is a very difficult task to classify the intangible heritage of the Beijing Olympic Games because different people have different criteria for the classification. Besides, there exists some intersection to divide the intangible heritage of the Olympic Games. On the basis of exchanging with the experts in this field, the intangible heritage of the Beijing Olympic Games were divided into political legacy, economic heritage, cultural heritage, intellectual heritage, educational heritage, sporting heritage and organizational model (or organizational experience) heritage. The influence and value of the various heritages were analyzed and some suggestions about protecting and developing these heritages were also referred to. The intangible heritage has a characteristic of being fuzzy and vulnerable, thus, if the measurement of the protection and development is not timely and effective, the precious heritage will soon disappear with the time going. Through demonstrating the Intangible heritage of the Beijing Olympic Games and drawing on the experience of the previous studies, the suggestions of protecting and developing the intangible heritage are as follows:establishing the acceptance of the heritage of the Beijing Olympics; establishing a correct view of Beijing Olympic Games legacy; putting emphasis on the transformation and the utilizing of the research outcome about the protection of intangible heritage of the Beijing Olympic Games; integrating the tangible and intangible heritage together; building the Olympic Memorial Hall; laying down the reasonable management criteria of the Olympic Legacy; strengthening legislation to provide a strong legal protection; expanding domestic and overseas seminars related to the intangible heritage of Olympic Games; increasing the supervision of the protection and development of the intangible heritage of the Beijing Olympic Games to heighten the transparency; establishing and forming a long-term mechanism.
