The present switch of study focus from "curriculum" to "teacher" in the field of curriculum study indicates that the important role of teacher in education reform has drawn upon world-wide attention. And professionalization of teacher education is the major way to better the quality of teachers. In this process, PE teacher education either remains indifferent and follows the tradition that people with fine motor skills can be teachers, or gets involved in various complicated professional knowledge in China. This shows that the former PE teacher education pays too much attention to "motor skills". It is true that PE teachers should have some motor skills, but motor skills have received too much attention. Consequently, technology-orientation and biology-orientation will conceal the humanities of PE curriculum somehow, what's worse, some PE teachers are content with demonstrating and practicing their sport technique without developing their reflection ability and creative power. After analyzing the roles, knowledge structure and cultural differences of the inner structure of PE teacher profession systematically, it is pointed out that the key to professionalisation of PE teacher is "leraning to teach". This teaching wisdom is the result of refining some factors, such as, social status, educational background, and professional title, which are superficial to professionalization; it is a position that the former professionalization development of PE teacher with focus on motor skills can hardly attain; and it determines what state the teaching of PE teachers can reach.Observing education reform of PE teachers from a professional angle is the process of developing what is useful and discarding what is not in traditional PE teacher education, and the process of borrowing similar experiences from developed countries. Based on the theories of profession, this dissertation analyses typical problems in pre-service education of PE teachers comprehensively, such as courses revelent to PE pedagogy, technical course and continuing education of PE teacher, and then it offers corresponding tactics and ideas for reform. This dissertation aims to help people get rid of the mistaken ideas formed because of technique-orientation, form professional ideas on PE teachers with a view to teaching wisdom, and then provides the present education reform of PE teachers with much food for thought.
