The chemistry concept teaching has always been a main part of the chemistry teaching in middle schools. The model of chemistry concept teaching, the logical starting point of which has formed on the basis of the Dialectical Materialist Theory of Knowledge during a long term of teaching experience, has followed the general laws of cognition, but it has overlooked chemistry concept and the characteristics and innate rules of teaching. With the requirements of teaching reform and practice, it is necessary for us to go deep into its theoretical and practical research from the characteristics of concept, after having analyzed and consulted the achievements in philosophy -. psychology and educational science home and abroad.The meaning of concept lies in the relationships among concepts. The relationships of chemistry verbal concepts inevitably relate to chemistry principles and theories. Thus, this research has extended to theoretical chemistry and its teaching. In research methods, in addition to analysing method, integral and synthetic ones are also applied. The theoretical research shows that philosophical structuralism school, J. Piajet's structuralistic psychology, and LBruner's structural curriculum theory have come down in one continuous line and they have a close relationship with constructivism. So, there's a basic idea of this research — Teaching is a process from structure to construction, a process in which the structural objective knowledge is turned to special personal knowledge.The structure research should not only focus on chemistry verbal concepts system as its surface-cognitive structure, but also study the basic chemistry concepts and study methods as the deep cognitive structures. This research has made a diachronic summary on the structure of chemistry science, so as to depict the characteristics of the basic concepts and methodology which have played a vital role in the development of chemistry. Form a synchronic comparison study on the textbooks home and abroad, it can be seen that the theoretical structure of foreign textbooks covers almost all the achievements from modern chemistry on. The concepts and principles in them pay more attention to depicting the process than presenting the result.The study on construction has set about caring about the diversity of students' personality and motivating students' enthusiasm and carried out a series of observation and experiments, so that some feasible teaching and research strategies.Any teaching can not avoid education target. The teaching from structure to construction is not to foster technological elite, but to serve every student and create fully developed citizens. This research has done a case-study on and reflected the ability of chemistry cognition and chemistry literacy: the core of chemistry cognition should be to develop the students' thinking ability and experimental ability; the development of chemistry literacy should set truth,goodness and beauty as the ultimate aim and its guideline should be to balance the scientific spirit and humanistic spirit.
