Economical Analysis Of The Function Of Higher Educational Institution

This dissertation is a theoretic research on the function of Higher Educational Institution, which is a social system of higher educational organization and its rules, social institutions to arrange authoritatively for profound expertise and social value system in the society. By means of the relatively integral academic process, the dissertation analyses the saving functions of higher educational institution on internal and external cost with the method of Neo-Institutional Economics transaction cost theory and its cost-benefit analysis and the cogitating mode of methodological wholism.This dissertation consists of four parts: introduction, conception, main analyses, conclusion and deduction.In the introduction part, the questions and reasons are brought forward, the literature survey is done to illustrate the trending specialities of this research and offers the reasons of selecting "the function of higher educational institution". On the one hand, it is based on the exploration of means, and applies transaction cost analysis of institutional economics on educational issues in higher education, which differentiates the former methods of sociology and systematology. On the other, it is distinguished from the individualism trunk in institutional economic methodology with the wholism cogitating mode in researching methodology.Chapter II is the conception part, which defines institution, transaction, transaction cost and higher educational institution, the four core conceptions of the dissertation. With the reference of etymologic, literature quotation and analysis ,it reaches the definition of institution: the organization and its rules of a society, the essentially meaning of higher educational institution: to arrange authoritatively for profound expertise and social value system in the society; it analyses the presentation and development process of transaction and transaction cost, and reveals transaction cost is a kind of institutional cost essentially. And then, reveals the content of transaction cost of higher education.Chapter III,IV,V are the main part of theoretic analysis, which discusses the function of higher educational institution on saving higher education transaction cost, encouraging and restricting its participants, especially the faculty, saving the social transaction cost.Chapter III discusses the first part of the internal function of higher education, to provide possibility of saving transaction cost of higher education, and indicate that the function of saving comes from the production scale, and the emergence of a university is that a kind of substitutes of an internal authority to a market contract in the development of society.Chapter IV discusses the second part of the internal function of higher education, the incentive restraint to its participants. After analyzing the logical basis of people's behavior preference, it continues to resolving the incentive constraint mechanism for higher education institution to higher education participant's behavior and set forth the incentive model of higher education institution.
