Professor's academic governance refers to professors dealing with academic activities, comprised of teaching, research and decision-making in academic affairs, which is in accordance with the existence and development of universities. However, how could professors be involved in academic governance in China is still problematic. With the highest academic level and as the core of universities, professors dealing with the academic governance is significant towards the growth of universities and societies. Thus it is of great significance in theory and reality to solve the problems in the academic governance and to allow the professors to play a better role. In accordance with the logic way of "defining the question, analyzing the question and dealing with the question", by adopting the methods of questionnaire, document review, comparative research and case study, this paper makes a deep and systematic exploration into the problems existing in the academic governance and into the way-out through following six chapters.Chapter one is the introduction, clarifying the reason for choosing the topic and listing the relevant research. Based on the defining of some key concepts. such as professors' academic governance, presidents' administrating university, etc., as well as the analysis of the characteristics of the academic governance of professors and reasons for its declining, the research idea is establish and the necessary research methods are adopted.Chapter two makes an investigation and analysis of the current situation of professors' academic governance in China. Based on the positive methods of questionnaire and interview, by using the materials related to the research, this part concludes the achievements in this field in China, as well as emphasizing the problems of professors' academic governance in its academic moral, academic level and academic power. Focusing on these problems, relative reasons are mentioned.Chapter three deals with the foundation of how professors can be involved in academic governance in theoretic and practical way. One is the theoretic foundation. By defining universities and professors and analyzing their quality, it is demonstrated that university and professors are coexisting via advance knowledge, thus it is reasonable for professors to be involved in the academic governance. The other is the practical foundation. By analyzing teaching, research and decision-making in academic affairs that professors deal with, it is illustrated that universities have to dependent on professors' academic governance, thus professors involving in academic governance is of good necessity.Chapter four studies the necessary conditions for professors to deal with academic...
