Research On The Academic Committee Construction Of College From The Perspective Of Professor Academic Management

Professors' academic governance is a professor's management and governance of academics through academic power.It is one of the important contents of modern university system,the key to balance academic power and administrative power,and an effective way to promote academic management norms and ultimately achieve academic freedom in universities.Therefore,professors' academic governance have become the trend of academic governance.The Outline of the National Medium-and Long-Term Education Reform and Development Plan(2010-2020)points out that it is necessary to explore effective ways for professors' academic governance and give full play to the role of professors in teaching,academic research and school management.The academic committee is the highest academic institution in the university.It is the core link to improve the academic management system of colleges and universities.It is the most important organizational form for the implementation of professors' academic governance.The construction of professors' academic governance and academic committees complement each other and promote each other.The former is the purpose of the latter,and the latter is the way to achieve the former.Under the background of the shift of the management focus of colleges and universities,the Secondary college has taken on more and more important responsibilities in cultivating talents,scientific research,and serving the society.The need to improve the academic management system of the college is imminent.Adhering to the philosophy of professors' academic governance,Z University has actively improved the academic committee construction to become a typical case of the reform of the university department's governance system.In this case,through the research and discussion methods,according to the principle of “full coverage of the faculty and key points of the college”,12 colleges of 6 faculties were selected for special research.This paper discusses the academic governance system with the academic committee as the main body,analyzes the current situation of the academic committee construction under the guidance of the professors' academic governance,discovers the problems existing in the construction,and proposes a targeted construction strategy.This article is divided into five chapters.The first chapter introduces the background,significance,related literature review and the concept of professors' academic governance and academic committees.The second chapter reviews the development of professors' academic governance and academic committees.The third chapter is the school-level academic committee of Z University.As a case study,the school-level academic committee comprehensively analyzed the development history,functions,composition,operation system and function of the academic committee of Z University College from the perspective of professors' academic governance.The fourth chapter analyzes the problems of the school-level academic committee of Z University,including the unclear governance.The operational mechanism is not sound;the capacity building needs to be strengthened;the participation of members is not active enough.The fifth chapter is to improve the countermeasures and suggestions for the school-level academic committee of the college to further promote the professors' academic governance,including: clear governance orientation,rationalize the relationship of the academic committee in the college governance system;improve the operational mechanism,guarantee the normal operation of the school-level academic committee;strengthen capacity building,Improve the performance of school-level academic committees;improve the quality of school-level academic committee members and enhance the cohesiveness of school-level academic committees.
