Coming forth with the nationality renaissance movement in western countries in 1960s, the multicultural education have become a common value orientation of the nationality education around the world at present. Multicultural curriculum is an important way of implementing multicultural education. It emphasizes considering the multiplicity of culture as the prerequisite, combining the multiple culture resources to adapt to all the students' learning requests, and providing fair learning and developing chances for students from different cultural backgrounds so as to promote social justice and achieve educational fairness.Miao nationality of our country has a long history and magnificent culture. The culture of Miao nationality has abundant educational value and should have been brought into school curriculum system to reflect its multicultural feature. However, the primary and middle schools in Miao areas mainly adopt a united curriculum model in which the main culture (the culture of Han nationality) is at the very core. This results in students' drift apart to his own nationality's culture and makes students lost their own. So, under the background of multi-culture, the essence of Miao culture should be mixed organically into present curriculum system of schools to reflect the viewpoint of multi-culture, necessary flexibility must be kept between single-culture and multi-culture, and multicultural curriculum system should be constructed. This will be not only benefit for enriching our country's multicultural curriculum theory and deepening nationality education theory, but also provide theoretical direction to multicultural curriculum reform practice of the Miao areas.The dissertation consists of eight parts:Part one: Introduction. It analyzes the developing trends of world multicultural curriculum and the present research situation of our country's multicultural curriculum, defines the basic concepts, explains the necessity of multicultural curriculum of Miao areas and the value of this research, and introduces the train of thought and the methods of this research briefly.Part two: Ecological environment description of Leishan Miao nationality. It describes the historical and ecological environment of the research cases briefly. People living in different ecological circles have different cultural features and psychological characteristics. The culture of Miao nationality reflects its unique ecological environment.Part three: Language explanation of Leishan Miao nationality culture. Human culture is just the result of symbolic behavior. To these symbols, explanation methods must be used to explain the meanings. Therefore, this chapter focuses on explaining the implication and the value of the Miao nationality culture to make us fully realize those abundant metropolitan territory culture resources to be developed.Part four: Realistic narrative of school curriculum of Leishan Miao nationality. By going deep into the scene to engage in an on-the-spot research, the author discloses that single-cultural curriculum implemented at present in Miao areas lead to the departure of centre and suspension of the Miao culture and a variety of misunderstanding still exists in multicultural curriculum practice in Miao areas, such as narrowness and utility of multicultural curriculum objectives, simplicity and superficiality of multicultural curriculum implement, etc.Part five: Ideas of multicultural curriculum development of Miao nationality. According to the present situation of school curriculum of Miao areas and the multicultural curriculum development theories, ideas of multicultural curriculum of Miao nationality are put forward. These ideas include pursuing social justice and educational fairness, valuing difference and multiplicity, promoting communication and dialogue, legalizing metropolitan territory knowledge, keeping necessary flexibility between single-culture and multi-culture, and achieving self-consciousness of curriculum culture.Part six: Multicultural curriculum Construction of Miao nationality. According to problems in developing multicultural curriculum in Miao areas, and directed by ideas of multicultural curriculum development, multicultural curriculum of Miao nationality are constructed. The author puts forward a curriculum development model based on curriculum combination and mainly composed of combination models, defines curriculum objectives of transmitting national culture, developing cross-culture ability, training national recognition, and understanding and appreciating other culture, expounds curriculum-selecting tactics based on abundant culture resources of Miao nationality, and advances viewpoints of achieving curriculum content combination by topics as the core and organizing curriculum with hidden educational forces, experiences and activities as the core.Part seven: Multicultural curriculum implementation of Miao nationality. Based on the present situation of multicultural curriculum implementation of Miao areas and the imagination of multicultural curriculum of Miao nationality, the author advances that multicultural curriculum implementation of Miao nationality must keep enactment orientation and flexible tactics and models, teaching ways should be diversified by applying cooperative-inquiring teaching, dialogue teaching, and bilingual teaching fit for Miao nationality's cognition model, etc, and certain conditions must be put to use to ensure this implementation.Part eight: Multicultural curriculum evaluation of Miao nationality. The author clarifies that the evaluation should keep the direction of development and qualification, points out the diversity of the main body of curriculum evaluation, defines the scope and standard of the evaluation, and puts forward some qualitative evaluation methods, such as portfolio assessment, Socrates model assessment, etc.
