After the arrival of the 21st century, people's subjectiveness is becoming stronger and stronger, simultaneously with the advances of science and technology, the further implementation of the policy of reform and opening-up, and the progress of multi-polarization and economic globalization. The work of ideological and political education and management in universities is now faced with greater challenges and rare opportunities as well. As we all know, the quality of faculty plays a major role in a certain discipline. The discipline of ideological and political education management is of no exception. The general level of the faculty is not only linked with the actual implementation of discipline's content and objective, process and assessment, and the decisions made by a leader, but also with the effectiveness of the management of ideological and political education in reality. Especially in the new era, it is necessary to strengthen the disciplinary construction of ideological and political education management, and improve the efficiency of the work of ideological and political education and management, and meet the requirements of fostering talents in universities. And it is urgent that we should further strengthen the faculty construction of the discipline.From the perspective of Marxism theories on talents, this thesis analyzes the general problems existing in the faculty construction of the discipline of ideological and political education management in colleges or universities, explores its nature, defines its concept, and makes distinction between itself and its relative concepts. Then it elaborates on the core of faculty construction from two levels, namely, the composition of the faculty as a whole and the qualities of an individual in the faculty. Following that, the routes and model of faculty construction in the new era are proposed from the angles of development and innovation. The model integrates the four aspects of the faculty construction, i.e., organization, system, mechanism and regulation. As for its organization, it should be made up of different forms, full-time teachers, part-time teachers, and reserved teachers. As for its system, it should be innovated with involvement of the party, the government, the society, some experts and its own faculties. As for its regulations, they should include the aspects of planning, payment, promotion, reward and punishment. However, a positivist study has conducted. This study will surely play an active role in strengthening and promoting the faculty construction of ideological and political education management.Under the guidance of Marxist theories, this thesis starts off with the general laws of faculty construction, and analyzes the characteristics of faculty construction in the discipline of ideological and political education management. To be specific, it analyzes the general laws of faculty construction, explores its routes, models, and assessment. The analysis follows the logical routes from macrocosm to microcosm, from entirety to locality, from commonness to individuality, from general to specific, and from the noticeable to the unnoticeable. Employing the methods of descriptive study, reflective study and countermeasure study, the thesis, in a systemic way, answers the questions of what, why, how and what to do in the field of faculty construction. And it focuses on the model designing of faculty construction and positivist analysis. The data for analysis is collected from 72 colleges and universities in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. And the quantitative research into the faculty construction for the last five years is undertaken on the basis of the proposed model and with the use of mathematic analysis. With one university in Guangxi as an example, an evaluative analysis on the effectiveness of the faculty construction is also conducted.
