Uighur Urban And Rural Women A Comparative Study

One of the main areas of anthropology and ethnology is female research. Unfortunately, study on female in China appears to be frail and rare in anthropology and ethnology up to now, especially on the minority women. Simultaneously, probing into the living conditions and development of female of ethnic minority adequately embodies the practical significance under the actually harmonious society.Ugyur, as the main minority of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, they invented brilliant history and culture belong to the whole world .What the Uygur female's action in Ugyur culture? How do they adjust the tradition and modernity culture? Undoubtedly, they used their unique method to established the family's stable and prosperous, and their directly and indirectly reflect the nation's stable and flourishing.This article chose two places to comparatives: one of that named Qikman county which representative for traditional culture, located in the Tulufan area .Another one is Urumqi, representative for modernity culture. Through this comparative research, wants to reveal how the Uygur female adjusted the tradition and modernity cultures in the modern times .How does they keeping tradition and receipt modernity? The most important aspect is to reveal the social and female problem in tradition and modernity social.Whole dissertation is composed of 8 chapters. Preface and Chapter 1 covers the study background, the significance of choosing topic, related introduction, and study plan and so on. For show the action of Uygur female in the social, in later 7chaptes covers education, marriage, family, family economy, birth, religion and entering police culture etc.I posed the Uterine applied to the Uygur family in view of the recently female anthropology research. Through the comparative research of rural and city female's behavior character and ideal ,I draw out the two mode of Uterine in Uygur family .The rural county's female 's life is: the Niangjia(married women's natural family)—Pojia(mother-in -law's family)—own family—to be Popo(mother-in law), the women's rule in construction of Popo's authority's is the basic of understanding the women and agency and practical kinship .While the city's women's life is :the Niangjia—own family ,pay attention to the women's good relation with their Niangjia after they marriage ,which is the most important to comprehensive how the modernity women constructed the Uterine family.It is so pleasure to find the women's agency is clearly showing in the practical kinship relation and the authority also present in the practical relationship, although depreciated the women in their word and neglect their real rule in practical life under pressure the system of gender and authority.At present ,the Uygur culture faced the challenge with the modernity, globalization .The Uygur's women also faced the big culture shock and culture adjust in today ,with increasing the consciousness of women ,the Uygur women's life will be into multicultural mode.
