From the perspectives of the historical extensibility and the social integrity, any morality depends on a particular individual and it unfolds through the individual. Morality, in essence, is a human field which is highly conscious, autonomous and self-making and a field in which self-consciousness is profoundly unfolded. Morality is developed by means of the self-adaptation which perfects the self-moral mental world, and any external constraint, unified standards, compulsory regulations and others' identification are all opposite to the internal essence of morality. The moral autonomy is destroyed by the educational channel of the external moral implantation, which leads to the absence of life consciousness, and its effect is not obvious. So the individual value consciousness cannot be adequately developed and the self-moral spirit cannot be easily promoted in spite of too much education if we don't begin with selfhess. In order to eliminate the inefficiency of the current moral education of higher institutions, we are required to care for the life development and realize the value connotation of the individual life, which is helpful for the adequate and firm establishment of the self-morality.As for the self-moral problem, there are relevant ideas in the field of philosophy and psychology. Based on the ideas above, the present thesis carries out the research from the perspective of pedagogy from the standpoint of the life practice. The self-morality in the field of pedagogy is a comprehensive concept, widely including the thought of philosophy, ethics, psychology and sociology. Self-morality is realized in the self-construction process which is representation of the self-development and lasting perfection. Self-morality owes the life form and practical character. Life is nature of self-morality, and self-morality exhibits the life form of emancipation, independence and temporality based on which forms the integral realization. Self-morality has the practical connotation, with the life form of performing moral standards and then producing the positive life experience and in its practice self-morality produces and develops.Loss of self-morality can be analyzed from the historical responsibility and educational reasons. Individual life meaning is degenerated in history in that cultural traditions dispraised and repressed "self, politics transgressed morality and the value disintegrated during the social change. Individual life experience is shadowed by education due to the "self-out" moral educational ideas, ignorance of cultivating humanistic spirit, holy value planning of moral idealism, limitless expansion of abstract rationality and one-sided educational relationship.The establishment of self-morality requires the orthodox social conditions of moral fashion and just and fair social systems as for the external conditions. From the school education perspective, the leading role of moral education should be played, actively raising students' self-morality. Moral education requires carrying out the practical viewpoint, returning back to life and promoting human's life value. With life practice as thinking mode, self-modification is required in moral education of higher institutions, expanding individual self-consciousness and subliming connotation of life value in educational goal, realizing the shift from the knowledge form to life meaning form in curriculum form, realizing the shift from the control and separation to communication and dialogue in relationships between teachers and students, and consciously changing the moral ideas and educational behaviors in teacher's role. In the thinking mode of life practice, cultivation of university students' self-morality begins with evoking the moral potential of individual life and the moral potential hidden in human nature should be explored and induced. Enhancing the enthusiasm and initiative of the self-life physical and mental cultivation will make the consciousness of self-moral education. On the basis of moral promotion, moral criticism is further improved. Any kind of education eventually resorts to the practice and university students should be guided to autonomously participate in the moral practice, making them consciously pursuit the life perfection and the subjective spirit richness. Finally the establishment of self-morality is realized in the process of self-promotion.
