Education is a relatively independent social phenomenon,and among the various social phenomena on which it depends,culture has the greatest influence on it.Culture and education act on each other through the medium of man,however, the influence of culture on education overruns the influence of education on culture, and culture,to a great extent,is the parent and value source of education.As a significant composite part of education and teaching,PE(physical education) teaching is closely related to culture development.In the mid-to-late 20th century, western scholars were inclined to explain the problems of different countries,such as modernization using cultural factors,and they recognized the position of culture in reform and development in various social aspects as the foregoer.However, such value of culture as a premise did not receive its due regard during the modernization transformation and in the PE teaching field in China,and none of the past teaching reforms have attached any importance to cultural influence,and thus the paradox between the confusion about the current culture and PE teaching is inevitable.In the late 20th century and early 21st century,a wave of culture study on education,courses and teaching swept the world,and the education scientific study mode changed.Against such a background,the present text attempts to interpret,criticize and reflect on the change of the factual and evaluative practice of and theoretical studies on China's PE teaching from a culture aspect in the cultural context of the coexistence of traditional,modern,post-modern culture at the current social transformation stage on the basis of the modern dilemma of the current PE teaching,problems and shortages in the research,and the reality of the endless confusions about the new round of courses and educational reforms,and hopefully, it can construct a new concept,open a new vision for China's PE teaching,guide the theory and practice of China's PE teaching to adapt to the need of the development of education,time and the society,and seek for the essential meaning of PE teaching.The body of the present dissertation is composed of four chapters,and the basis of the establishment of the theory is the interpretation of the relationship between culture,man and education.Chapter 1 tries to portray the current evolution of culture and the demand of PE teaching concepts.The current culture is at the stage of the recognition crisis of traditional culture,the lack of logic in modern culture,and the confusion of post-modern culture.PE teaching will find its evaluative logic of the value concept and the evaluative objective concept in the culture evolution under the educational guidance of development concept and on the basis of culture as its ultimate measure of value.Chapter 2 is a culture examination on the reform of PE teaching system.The present chapter carries out realistic criticism and cultural reflection on the lack of school system culture and PE teaching system,further reasons on the systematic basis of PE teaching reform,and analyzes the inner relationship between system reform and culture as well as the cultural resistance on the system reform,finally it tries to analyze the construction theory of the modern PE teaching system—system renovation as its basis and a sound system culture environment as its core.Chapter 3 presents the cultural reflection on PE teaching practice.The present chapter firstly discloses the modern dilemma of PE teaching and the reason thereof during social transformation,and then it explores the subject of PE teaching—a culture scenario of teacher and student,and finally analyzes the experiences and disadvantages of the new round of PE course reform,and reflects on the culture adaptation problems of PE teachers.Chapter 4 presents the study on PE teaching and research in a post-modern culture vision.The present chapter discusses the transit of the mode of post-modern PE teaching and research from a post-modern culture angle,and constructs a live PE teaching theory and reflection on practice,and finally under the guidance of a global concept and against a quality education background,it analyzes the cultural background and basic direction of PE teaching reform and research,and confronts the cultural mission that PE teaching reform and research must shoulder.
