| In the past, China's economic development is heavily depended on cheap labor. Nowadays, with the deepening of world economy globalization, the development model of manufacturing industry has facing great challenge. The key to the development of china's manufacturing industry is to upgrade their value chain through technological innovation. Compared with western companies, Chinese manufacturing enterprises is in a disadvantageous position because of lack of technology, which means Chinese firm depend on external resources more then western Competitors. As we know, relational embeddedness is one of the most important methods to access and acquire external resources. Firms can use many kinds of relational embeddedness to acquire valuable business and technology knowledge, and which will contribute to the development of product and process technology, and finally promote the firm innovation performance. So, how to speed up innovation by using relational embeddedness is an important issue which needed to be resolved by Chinese manufacturing enterprises. Although many existing theoretical research have outlined the characteristics of the relational embeddedness, the research on mechanism about the impact of relational embeddedness on firm innovation performance in industrial cluster is still inadequate.Relational embeddedness can facilitate firms to integrate external resources, and then accelerate technological innovation and upgrade their position in the global value chain. So this dissertation aims to answer the basic question of "how does relational embeddedness influence firm innovation performance?" Specifically, this basic research question can be break into three issues. First, what is the relationship between firm's technological embeddedness and its innovation performance? Second, how does the business embeddedness influence the innovation performance? Third, how do the four kinds of relational embeddedness influence the innovation performance together? In order to answer these above-mentioned questions, the dissertation carried out its research through the corresponding three sub-researches. In the first sub-research, the author put forward the conceptual model and research hypothesis about the impact of technological information embeddedness and resource embeddedness of firm on innovation performance.196 firms in China are investigated via questionnaires, and Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) is conducted to establish and verify the measures, and then multivariate linear regression is applied to testify the concept model and hypothesis.In the second sub-research, the author put forward the conceptual model and research hypothesis about the impact of business information embeddedness of firm on innovation performance. Also, in this study, confirmatory factor analysis is conducted to establish and verify the measures, and then multivariate linear regression is applied to testify the concept model and hypothesis.Based on the above-mentioned sub-research, the third sub-research discusses the question of how four kinds of relational embeddedness influence the innovation performance together. In order to answer this question, the author put forward the conceptual model and research hypothesis about the impact of relational embeddedness of firm on innovation performance. Also, in this study, confirmatory factor analysis is conducted to establish and verify the measures, and then multivariate linear regression is applied to testify the concept model and hypothesis.Through the foregoing statement, some major conclusions can be drawn as follows:1) First, from the content persperctive, the aruthor argues that the relational embeddedness can be classified into technological information embeddedness, technological resource embeddedness, business information embeddedness and technological resource embeddedness.2) Second, the empirical study proves that technological information embeddedness and technological resource embeddedness of firm have directly effect on firm's innovation performance, and then the characteristics of technology knowledge which the firm needed can also influence the relationship between technological information embeddedness, technological resource embeddedness and firm's innovation performance. Concretely speaking, the tacitness of the technology knowledge can positively modulate the relationship between technology information embeddedness and firm's innovation performance;and the Complexity of technology knowledge can positively modulate the relationship between technology resource embeddedness and firm's innovation performance.3) Third, the empirical study shows that business information embeddedness and technological resource embeddedness of firm have directly effect on firm innovation performance, and then the characteristics of organization environments can also influence the relationship between business information embeddedness, business resource embeddedness and firm innovations performance. Concretely speaking, the uncertainty of the organization environments can positively modulate the relationship between business information embeddedness and innovation performance;but the munificence of the organization environment can reversely modulate the relationship between business resource embeddedness and innovation performance.4) Finally the empirical study shows that although all four kinds of relational embeddedness mentioned above can positively influence the firm innovation performance, business information embeddedness and resource embeddedness influence can be indirect. In detail, the empirical study proves that technology information embeddedness mediate the relationships between business information embeddedness and innovation performance. Also, the empirical study shows that technology resource embeddedness has mediating effects on the relationships between business resource embeddedness and innovation performance.Throughout the whole research, this dissertation tries to make some innovation in the following fields:first, deepen our understanding of the relationship between technology embeddedness and innovation performance; Second, deepen our understanding of role of the business embeddedness in innovation; Third, Enrich and expand the research on the mechanism of relational embeddedness and innovation performance.
