Circular-City construction is the inevitable choice for sustainable urban development and the effective way to solve the problems of urbanization, meeting the resources condition of our country. It is urgent to build urban circular logistics system (UCLS) for Circular-City construction and the optimization of urban resources recycling.This dissertation is based on literature analysis and on-site research, and relies on such theories as resources recycling, circular logistics, urban logistics and logistics system. It explores the concept, elements, structure, function and building mechanism of UCLS. It researches the building strategies and patterns of UCLS and establishes the building models of UCLS. Then the empirical research is carried out against the backdrop of Beijing, based on the result of the theoretical studies. It finally proposes some suggestions on the implementation of UCLS. The main innovation works of this dissertation are focus on the followed parts:(1) The concept of UCLS is defined and divided into object elements, subject elements and carrier elements. Object elements include all kinds of resources in the process of urban resources recycling. Subject elements include organizations or individuals taking part in the urban circular logistics activities directly or indirectly. Carrier elements include all kinds of facilities and equipments shipping object elements between subject elements.(2) To realize the optimization of urban resources recycling and integrate economic, environmental and social benefits as the building target, the building sequence is object elements, subject elements and carrier elements by turn. The building process and methods is established from the aspects of the building strategies, the building patterns, the building models and the building assessments.(3) The building models of UCLS consist of object elements model, subject elements model and carrier elements model. The cost-benefit model of object elements, based on marginal analysis, is able to choose the best building pattern integrating economic and environmental benefits. The principal-agent model of subject elements, based on the principal-agent relationships between different subject elements, is able to keep the balance of interests through game analysis. The network planning model of carrier elements, based on mixed integer linear programming, is able to solve the location and distribution problems for UCLS.(4) The empirical research is carried out against the backdrop of Beijing, based on the result of the theoretical studies. It analyses the urban resources recycling of Beijing and the related logistics from the aspects of overall status and focus areas. Then it designs the building programs, consisting of object elements, subject elements and carrier elements. Finally, it proposes some suggestions on the implementation of UCLS.In addition, there are 36 figures,38 tables and 125 reference documents in the dissertation.
