In the twenty-first century, due to the explosion of the global resource environment crisis, human society will come into the age of circular economy that must pay great attention to resource reclamation.Highway engineering technology achieved great development during the past hundred years, a great quantity of highway engineering facilities improve the quality of human life, but at the same time, it also brought a lot of social problems, for example, the construction of highway engineering facilities expensed a lot of valuable natural resources, which not only destroy natural environment but aggravate the pollution of life environment.To carry out circular economy in highway engineering is the scientific and sustainable mode of development of resources. Carrying out reverse logistics will bring great economic and social benefits, and it will be the inevitable choice. The macro-value of reverse logistics mainly includes reducing the environment pollution and increasing the efficiency of resource usage. The micro-value of reverse logistics mainly includes reducing cost of materials, increasing benefits of firms, lifting environmental achievement and shaping the figure of firms.At present, there is less research on outdated Re-birth of used materials and using re-birth materials in highway engineering. And it's related with reverse logistics. Based on analysis on available research, this paper mainly probes into the function mode of reverse logistics and the built of network. As to function mode, we research on the disadvantages and advantages of the mode of self- operation, joint operation and out sourcing. Based on the previous analysis, This paper adopted analytic network process with different factors and the experience of the reality of highway engineering to gain the final results of that three function modes.As to built of network, This paper built up the reverse logistics with the particulars of highway engineering. However, for certain firms, it must choose the suitable reverse logistics network. In the final part, This paper summarized and predicted the prospects of the reverse logistics in highway engineering and believed that will get great development in the future.
