Research On The Co-evolution Of Industrial Cluster Ecosystem

Industry Cluster is one of the most economic phenomena of the global economy development, and it has been seemed as one of critical ways to promote the regional economic level.lt is important to explore the evolutionary mechanism of industry cluster and study its growing effect for those who will develop enterprise competiton and regional economy by way of industry cluster. The coevolution theory is the theoretical frontier of evolutionary economics.lt expands the traditional evolution into multi-level evolutionary system. The evolutionaty dynamics of the industrial clusters is always accompanied with the environment transformation, which is in this case a coevolutionary development. Therefore? based on the coevolution theory, we can explore the nature and rules of the industry cluster evolution better.Firstly, this dissertation selects the ecological analysis perspective? and analyze the ecological characteristics of the industrial clusters. From the comparative study on ecosystem and industrial cluster, this dissertation puts forward the concept of industrial cluster ecosystem, analyzes characters and structures based on it, and proposes a conceptual framework of industrial cluster ecosystem. Secondly, this dissertation explores coevolutionary mechanisms of industrial cluster ecosystem from three layers which are clustered enterprises within industrial population, among industrial populations and between industrial cluster and cluster environment. This dissertation applies ecological models of Lotka-Volterra Model and n-population Metapopulation Model to the research of industrial clusters'coevolution mechanisms and makes the analog simulation that proves the conceptual analysis.The main contribution of this dissertation is that it proposes a multi-leveled research framework of the coevolutionary mechanisms of industrial clusters based on a combination of three theory aspects which are industrial clusters theory, organization ecology and coevolution theory. This dissertation also makes an analog simulation of the coevolutionary mechanisms which realizes quantitative analysis into industrial clusters coevolution. This research is both an extention of theoretical research of exsiting industrial clusters and a revelation of cooperative problems between clustered enterprises.
