As the open innovation model develops, more and more companies choose toorganize their R&D activities by outsourcing. With the in-depth practice of R&Doutsourcing, many operational problems had been addressed urgently in the process oftheoretical research. As a matter of fact, the knowledge management of R&Doutsourcing has always been a difficulty and core problem in practical operation aswell as theoretical study in this area. Hence, the study chose the "knowledge transfer"of R&D outsourcing as its subject. In the context of innovation, the incompleteness ofR&D outsourcing contract became more prominent, because rely solely on the formalcontract can not effectively avoid the risks arising from the cooperation process. Inview of this, the paper attempts to explore knowledge transfer issues with informal R&D Outsourcing Contract, focus on the perspective of mutual trust. In this study thepaper explored from the decision making of knowledge transfer of R&D outsourcing, discussed the trust game in the knowledge transfer of R&D outsourcing and thebuilding of trust relationship, stated that one should differentiate the knowledgetransfer strategy as trust relationship stages develops. The paper is composed by 7 chapters, which can be divided into 4 parts:introduction, summarize of domestic and foreign related research, fundamentalresearch and tconclusion. The first part, Introduction as Chapter 1, mainly on the background, problem, purpose and meaning of the research, as well as the basic structure, main contents, methods and technical routes of the study, and its major innovation. The second part, review of domestic and foreign studies. In Chapter 2, the studysorted out and summarized relative studies and outcomes of domestic and foreignR&D outsourcing. For the dynamic of R&D outsourcing, the study summarized form7 aspects, such as its meaning, motivation, decision making, risk, governance, knowledge sharing, transfer and empirical. For the dynamic of the trust, the studyemphasised on the trusted content, type, function engender and the development. Forthe dynamic of knowledge transfer, the study summarized its content, process, mechanism, efficiency and impact factors. The study also explored the issue ofknowledge transfer of R&D in cooperative research. The third part, theoretical research. In chapter 3, firstly, the study analysis therisk and characteristics of knowledge transfer in R&D outsourcing. Secondly, basis on the formal research, with the use of numerical simulation reveal the parameters on theequilibrium outcome, the study constructed evolutionary game model, the transfer ofR&D outsourcing, and theoretical analysis of decision-making behavior. The resultsshowed that: the risk of information leakage was caused by the erosion of marketshare, and manufacturers degree of knowledge transfer in the evolution ofdecision-making behaviour is a crucial impact. As the market changes with erosionrate, the system will evolve into three cases. In chapter 4, firstly, from the incompleteR&D outsourcing contract, the paper disclosed the importance of trust in therelationship between R&D outsourcing stakeholders. Based on this, the paperanalysed the relationship of trust in R&D outsourcing, from the function, influencingfactors and characteristics aspects, and building knowledge transfer trust game modelin R&D outsourcing to analyze the influence for both sides in long-term cooperationin the choosing of knowledge transfer strategy. The results showed that: trust can bereduced but not eliminated, the risk co-operation and trust does not necessarily lead tocooperation. Chapter 5 focused on the development of relationships build trust issuesof knowledge transfer in outsourcing. Based on the discussion of knowledge transferin R&D outsourcing and trust in the generating mechanism and channels, the paperanalysis the process of building the trust relationships and its strategies specific. Thenthe paper analysed the behavior of firms and R&D strategy of knowledge transfer inR&D outsourcing and the dynamic evolution of trust mode. In chapter 6, the paperdiscusses the development of trust in knowledge transfer in different stages of R&Doutsourcing strategy, drawing Nguyen research on trust development and theknowledge transfer in R&D outsourcing. The development of trust is defined as twostages: understanding and recognition. The study built trust game model of thedevelopment of knowledge transfer in outsourcing R&D in different stages, andnumerical simulation results were quantitatively analyzed. The results showed that: asthe deepening of trust of the parties the amount of knowledge transfer between thetwo sides will significantly increase, the cost is significant reduction in knowledgetransfer, and total profits between the partners also increased.Part IV, Conclusion and outlooks. In Chapter 7, the paper made an overallconclusions of the full text, discussed the field dependence for further research and itssystematic analysis framework .
