Construction Supply Chain Coordination And Its Supporting Platform

The firms'competition becomes more and more severity in the process of globalization. The besiness strategies of global firms have been shifted from competition-cooperation to cooperation. Meeting the demands of cross-organizations cooperation, supply chain management (SCM) has become a focusing on cooperation, advanced, and innovational besinees management mode.This research focuses on coordination issues in operation process of established construcation supply chain (CSC) by combining the reseach methodologies, such as theory analysis and case study, quantitive and qualitative, and hybriding multiple pricinples, such as operation research, game theory, and intelligent agent technology. Considering the actual demands and characters of the construction industry, this research mainly includes five sections, i.e. CSC coordination issues, formation mechanism of CSC coordination, impacts of information sharing on CSC operation, cooperative decisiona making mechanism of CSC and CSC supporting platform. The details are shown as follows.(1) The concept of CSC management is defined from cross-organization management perspective. Structural characters and attributes of CSC are analyzed and the forming process is described. Traditional construction project management method and procurement management are compared with CSC management in two points of relationship and difference. An integrated CSC management framework is established from relationship perspective. The concept and category of CSC coordination is provided. Coordination issues and their formed causes are analyzed from organization, economic and operation management perspecitives. CSC coordination issues result in asynnetry information, decentralized decision making, uncertainty, limited reationality and opportunism is addressed in this research.(2) The inner motivities of CSC coordination are described from transaction cost economics and firm capability. Supply chain (management) is reasoned out that which is the best governance structure for construction management. The prisoners'dilemma in CSC operation is analyzed.Using reputation model (KMRW) and replicator dynamic model of evolutionary game theory analyzes the cooperative and competitive actions of CSC partners and reasons that cooperative strategy is the foundation for cooperative evolutionary direction and keeping its stability.
