Study On Post-evaluation Of Theory And Application Of The Forestry Ecological Engineering In China

The present dissertation focuses on post-evaluation of theory and application of the forestry ecological engineering in China. Theory and application concerning forestry ecological engineering are approached against a social and forestry background and with reference to experience of the relevant field at home and abroad. In response to the challenges from"the equilibrium between ecological destruction and reparation", China has launched an ecology-centered strategy to constructing the system of forestry ecological and industry for the social demand of diversified forestry function. Built on a post-evaluation of Phase One (1978-2000) of the Three North Shelterbelt Program, preliminary researches on both theories and practices are made with qualitative and quantitative, and comparative and empirical methodologies.The first section is devoted to the significance of study on post-evaluation of theory and application of the forestry ecological engineering in China. With the ever-improving forest management, there have been strengthened efforts on procedures from project identification, feasibility, planning, examination, preparation, organization, implementation, completion and assessment, comparison with which renders the current post-evaluation effort disproportionate and lagging behind. However, the work relates much to the national concern about a healthy and steady forestry progress, which in turn justifies immediate consideration and will ensure wide market opportunities.The second section provides literature review on the post-evaluation studies at home and abroad.
