| Sustainable development is one subject of world economy development in our time. Mineral resource cities have important position and effect in our country's society and economy sustainable development.Guided by the basic theory of sustainable development, combined with the reality of Shuozhou being a city with coal dominated in its industry, through making a deep and deliberate study and a host of practical analysis,this paper revealed the present situation of coal industry in Shuozhou and expanding coal industry brings about the effect in society,economy,resource and environment aspect.Then the paper went further investigation of relation between mining area sustainable development and city sustainable development in mineral resource type city.On the basic of summarizing the types of mining area sustainable development,the paper raised some tactics on sustainable development in mineral resource city.The whole paper is made up of six parts.The first part provided the background and significance of this research;the second part reviewed the relative theories about regional economy and sustainable development and the progress and the trend of these theories;on the other hand,the part gave the present studying situation on mining area economy sustainable development at home and abroad and point out the existing problem in present research;the forth part introduced the method of building evaluation measuring index on mining area economy sustainable development and build the fuzzy mathematics model and evaluation measuring index system on mining area economy sustainable development;the fifth part gave some development strategy for Shuozhou mining area;the sixth part made a practical analysis in Shuozhou city,Shanxi province on its economy sustainable development,analyzed the present situation and existing problem in its mining industry progressing,and made evaluation for the degree of Shuozhou mining area sustainable development,then gave some advices.
