The Research On The Modes Of Economy Transformation Of Coal Resource-Based City In Shanxi Province

The Economy Transformation of Coal Resource-based City is a popular topic and has been concerned by many countries in the world. Coal is the main resources in China and there are sixty-three coal resource-based cities and thirteen percent of which is in Shanxi Province. Coal will be exhausted because it is not renewable resource. The sustainable development and the economic transformation of the coal resource-based city will be critical to the Chinese economy development. In this thesis, a lot of information was used to analyze the current situation of the coal resource-based city economy by using the methods of comparison, induction and charts examples. Some experiences of resource-based city economy transformation in China and in some foreign countries were also considered. The modes and protection regimes of Economy Transformation of Coal Resource-based City in Shanxi Province were studied in order to find some useful information for sustainable development of the old industrial bases in China.1. By reviewing literature, the current situation of coal mining in Shanxi Province and economy development in Coal Resource-based Cities such as Datong, Yangquan, Changzhi, Jincheng, Shuozhou, Xinzhou, Yuncheng, and Taiyuan was understood. The characteristics of economy development of Coal Resource-based Cities in Shanxi Province was analyzed from the aspects of the industry layout, industry structure, employment structure, ownership regime, circumstance zoology and safety of coal production.2. Some barriers limiting the development of Coal Resource-based Cities economy have been found, for instance, singleness of industry structure, lag of the third industry, the side effects of environment and ecosystem due to the present economic modes, hardship of employment due to the singleness of talents structure, shortage of the excellent expertise.3. The mode of economy transformation in both inside and outside of China has been reviewed and some successful experience has been applied in exploring the mode of Coal Resource-based Cities economy in Shanxi Province. The possible future model of economy transformation was put forward based on the different characteristics of Coal Resource-based Cities.4. An assessment system for the mode of economy transformation was preliminarily built in this study in order to effectively monitor the process of economy transformation.The Coal Resources Cities of Shanxi Province both have advantages and disadvantages in economic growth at present, and it is inevitable that the coal resources would be exhausted in some day, so to change the type of economy development is an important strategy for the future in Shanxi Province. The research work in this paper will provide the basis for that, especially, applying the life cycle method to economic growth change model of coal resources cities of Shanxi Province will give the specific way for economic model change of Shanxi Province, and also it has significance for sustainable development of Shanxi economy.
