With the developing of globalization and free trade, it's the common tropism to follow the Principle of Comparative Advantage in participating international division and corporation, more and more petroleum companies have enrolled into the competition in the world market. How to enhance our petroleum companies' competitive capacity in world as soon as possible is a practical subject for our enterprises and academic research.The aim of this paper is to study and evaluate the international competitiveness of Chinese Petroleum Industry, and then put forward corresponding counter-measures to promote it. As an industry with comparative advantage, China Petroleum bears responsibilities of increasing petroleum supply. So this study will make contributions towards guiding petroleum Corporations manage their production in international market, and offering government foundation in making macroeconomic decision.To hold economics characteristic of petroleum industry is the basic work of the paper, so the consuming characteristics of petroleum are analyzed and characteristic of petroleum production and trade are studied as well.The competitiveness of an enterprise is the capability of making more profits or producing more values from the assets than the competitor. It refers to the status quo the strength and the potential of an enterprise.In addition to variation management theory and combining with international trade theory this dissertation absorbs theory of competitive advantage of nations, theory of value flow management and core competitiveness and other modern trade and management theories.
