Nationalities And Development: The New Modernization Catching-Up Strategy In Minority Areas Of China

Because China is quickening to participate in globalization process, so it is facing with a challenge for social transformation on nation states in future, which is aggrandizing the consciousness of nationality development. This tendency will make minority problems become the one of social problems of most outstanding, most sensitive and most extensive in 21st century, so that let us think much of the choosing development way about strategy in minority areas of China under the background of modern economic globalization and China facing with construction of a transformation.Based on comparison and analysis on the international development theory, we put forward theoretical framework of new modernization catching-up strategy in minority areas of China. With the help of the innovated theoretical framework, we can examine and evaluate status problems of the minority economic equality theory, and discuss the dominating reason of development disparities to enlarge with effects of Catching-up Hanzu strategy. For the first time putting forward the fact of equality between Minority and Hanzu is new viewpoint that represents in three aspects on economic development disparities, human development disparities and social development disparities, and we consider that modernization catching-up is a long-term development process. In the process of shortening development disparities of priorities which are social development disparities, economic development disparities and human development disparities has to change traditional modernization catching-up strategy that sought the GDP growth and the exploitation of natural resources in past 50 years to new modernization catching-up strategy that will satisfy human development needed, social development priority and investment for people.In the process of studying is to apply for the methodologies of New Growth Theory to analyse and explain the immanent mechanism of equality. With the help of the above mentioned methodologies, the dissertation finds that traditional modernization catching-up strategy is a catching-up of simple economic objective, and it was the key problems which make minority problems economization and make economic problems absolutization. According to the above key problems, it focuses on the multiphase characteristics of development problems in minority areas of China, and of which put forward new suggestions for economics, politics and systems to quicken modernization development.
