With the sustainable development of the society, the significance of the forest resource was taken great importance. The traditional logging of natural forest was gradually substituted by the implement of natural forest protection and the sustainable certificated artificial commercial forest to obtain the tumbles. The consumption model of the government on the forest product was directly connected with the development of the process. So the realization of the Green Government Procurement of Forest Products(GGPFP) would be beneficial to promote the process. The GGPFP was the object of study, and its background and meaning was analyzed firstly in the paper. Then the present status of the GGPFP in developed countries, together with its influence on China, was reviewed and evaluated. And by theoretical analysis, the functional principle of the GGPFP on the promotion of forest sustainable management (FSM) was demonstrated. Considering the situation of China'import of forest product, the issue of sustainable supply of forest product in China was put forward in the article. Based on the new great demand on forest resources and the present status of China'government procurement of forest products, the point of the introduction of GGPFP in China was advanced in the paper, in order to promote the FSM and guarantee the sustainable supply of forest products in China by controlling the government consumption market. Thus, the economics analysis was conduct on China'implementation of GGPFP by means of cost-benefit analysis and game theory and some suggestion was put forward finally. The conclusions of the study were as follows: Firstly, GGPFP is a new tool to promote the SFM, by imposing the function of government's environmental management and the government procurement market-derived. Secondly, the goal, the involved products, the criterion of legality and sustainability, and the compulsory of the GGPFP were different respectively in the developed countries and its effects could not be evaluated in such a short time. Thirdly, Based on the top level of the FSM and the distribution of the certificated area in the developed countries, the require of forest certification in the GGPFP turn into trade barriers for the forest products from developed countries to occupy the worldwide market. Fourthly, the situation of depending on the importing forest products can not change for China in short time, so seeking steady-going and sustainable supply of forest products is the topic that should be considered. The implementation of the GGPFP would be beneficial to resolve the problem and promote the FSM in China. Finally, great challenge should be faced for China if the GGPFP was implemented and stock holder taken into account. The suggestions of the study were as follows: for China, the fundamental research on GGPFP should be strengthened, and domestic forest certification system established to enhance the competitive power of China'exporting forest products. Based on insuring economic development supported by importing timber, improving the government procurement of forest products could be tried to promote China's FSM fleetly。The innovation of the study was as follows: GGPFP, as a new topic in the field of forest protection, was not involved in research in China, but was studied firstly in the paper. The study filled up the gap in such domain and would be beneficial to the subsequent work.
