Researches On Industry Conjunction Of Chengyu Economic Zone Based On Interregional Input-Out Analysis

Looking over the entire western area, the Chengyu economic zone has the best conditions and potential for development. However, under the present system and mechanism, the government investment and the policy guidance makes every effort to emphasize on self-promotion of the regional industry, which gradually weakens the cooperation based on division of labor relations attenuate, and prevents the new development of cooperation based on division of labor relations. At the same time, because of the similarity of neighboring regions on the technical level, the resources talent, the manpower quality, and the position condition, under the market economy, the isolated development would definitely result in industrial structure assimilation and aggravating competition. The Chengyu economic zone includes Sichuan province and Chongqing city, that two are neighboring to each other, mutually integrated on the economy, interlinked on the culture, and historically in one administrative regionalization, which enables the Chengyu economic zone to have the obvious industrial characteristic and the good matching conditions, but simultaneously also has the serious competition problem.The paper holds the view:the theory of industry conjunction and the method of Input-Out analysis show mutually relations of the dependence of input and output, through the change of input and output of some industry and the other industry, judge the influence to the entire economic development of the industry, then choose an industry with bigger scale and stronger leading power to both sides as key point for the regional cooperation. It has a significant effect on the interior and the external economy growth of the region. This cooperative mode is based on a bilateral advantageous foundation.So, the paper established three models separately as the substitution of the Chengyu economic zone, including Sichuan Input-Out Model with 38 industries, Chongqing Input-Out Model and the Sichuan-Chongqing Input-Out Model. Then calculates 38 industries separately, the diffusion coefficient and the induct coefficient of Sichuan interior, Chongqing interior and between Sichuan and Chongqing. Higher diffusion coefficient of an industry explains that the increase on output of the industry produces larger demand to other industries; Higher induct coefficient illustrates that the increase of output of other industries produce more demand to the industry. On the basis of Chengyu economic zone industry conjunction analysis, combining to the history evolution of Chengyu economic zone, the resources and environmental condition, the industrial development foundation, the paper analyzes problems result from industry coordinated development in Chengyu economic zone, and makes proposal on the focus of regional cooperation in the development of Chengyu economic zone.The innovation of this paper exists in the following aspects:(1) using the MRIO model as well as Leontief and the Strout attraction model, inducing the proportional distribution coefficient of interregional commodity flows to figure out trade coefficient of Sichuan and Chongqing, establishes the Input-Out models of Sichuan interior, Chongqing interior and between Sichuan and Chongqing. Based on this foundation, it calculates diffusion coefficient and induct coefficient of Sichuan interior, Chongqing interior as well as between Sichuan and Chongqing. (2) Proposes the calculation method of diffusion coefficient and induct coefficient between the targeted regions. The regional diffusion coefficient indicates that the increase of the final demand per unit of an industry in a region directly or indirectly influences the output of industries in another region; The regional induct coefficient indicates that the increase of the final demand per unit of industries in a region directly or indirectly influences the output of an industry in another region. (3) General evaluates diffusion coefficient and induct coefficient of the 38 industries of Sichuan interior, Chongqing interior and between Sichuan and Chongqing, analyzes the situation of industry conjunction of Chengyu economic zone, judges the demand degree of one industry to the other industries in Sichuan interior, Chongqing interior and between Sichuan and Chongqing. Based on this, combined with the current development and cooperative situation, analyzing the existing problems, and then proposes suggestion on the focus of the regional cooperation in Chengyu economic zone.
