Related Industries And Industrial Optimization Path Of The Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Zone

As the strongest industrial base as well as economic power, theChengdu-Chongqing Economic Zone, has become the most promising developmentregion in the west of our country. Nowadays, it’s quite hopeful to foresee that thiseconomic zone, would turn into the forth growth pole in the future with the scope ofcooperation between Chengdu and Chongqing is expanding under the guidance of Westdevelopment Strategy. However, both governments were bound to follow the principalsof beneficial to their own industrial development when drawing up the industrial policysince they belong to different administrative areas. Therefore, the new division ofcollaborative relationships will be influenced by various kinds of obstructive factorsfrom administrative system, leading to weak industrial and even economic cooperation.Meanwhile, because of sharing the same history and being geographic neighbors,the endowment of resources, economic and industrial development, human resource aswell as positional condition are quite similar in both regions. In the condition ofmarket-oriented economy, the situation of isolated development of both regions woulddefinitely exacerbate the problems of cutthroat competition, moreover, causing thefailure of adjusting the industrial structure correctly and display the groups scale.According to the experiences of other economic zone, it’s quite easy to find thatthe development policy should be drawn up on the basis of regional competitiveness inorder to promote regional economy coordination development. In other words, it’snecessary to fully recognize and consider the fact that there exists competition in theregion. Only then, both governments are able to figure out the optimization of industrialstructure to achieve win-win situation. For the reason that the competition andcooperation would be both reflected in industry, identifying the priorities for Chengduand Chongqing would be much beneficial to promoting the coordinated development ofindustrial structure, reinforce the cooperation of industry, boost the integration ofregional economy and accelerate the pace of Western Development.Based on the questions mentioned above, this paper aims to analyze the currentsituation of industrial development and conjunction, and then put forward suggestionsabout the optimization of industrial organization combining with the regional planningof Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Zone. Firstly, this paper tries to work out theLeontief inverse matrix of Sichuan Province and Chongqing on the foundation ofChongqing and Sichuan42departments Input-Output Table of2007respectively, usingII it as the approximate Input-Output Model for Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Zone.Secondly, the influence coefficient sensitivity coefficient would be calculated, acting asthe supporting data to analyze the industrial conjunction in Chengdu-ChongqingEconomic Zone. Finally, on the purpose of choosing the most promising industries,playing strong pulling effect and promotion effect on the regional economy, somesuggestions would be put forward which could bring about a coordinated developmentof regional economy according to the analysis of industrial conjunction and regionalplanning of Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Zone.
