The first policy document, focused on agriculture, rural area and farmers, issued by the central committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council, was the No.1 central document in 2004. And then there have been seven No.1 central consecutive documents which all focused on agriculture, rural area and farmers. Are the reports on agriculture, rural area and farmers prosper? Does the farmer's main body status embody well? Does the reports on Agriculture, Rural Area and Farmers reflect the agriculture actuality, the rural area fact, and the famers'reality? How can we measure them. The author select 317 samples from more than 300,000 reports on agriculture, rural area and farmers through China Important Newspaper Database. The statistics based on 317 samples reveal that the main news source is not from farmer, the main show body is not farmer, the report agenda does not match the farmers'demand, and the image-building is biased. That is to say that the farmer's main body status of the reports on agriculture, rural area and farmers is underappreciated. Why? The reasons are that the urban-rural dichotomy resulting in huge disparity between urban and rural areas, and the mass media attach importance to profit-seeking not social responsibility leading to lose credibility. How to resolve the problem? First, there is called for greater efforts to coordinate development between urban and rural areas. Second, the mass media have to accept social responsibility better, restore credibility with great effort, and make a good socialism public sphere.
