The rapid development of the world economy increases the requirement ofthe energy, energy issue has become a strategic issue which affects the economicgrowth of every country. In the21century, as a revolutionary of delivery routetechnology, the tube scraper conveyor with low costs and high efficiencybecomes more popular. It is important to improve the overall performance,applications and the promotion of developing the green low-carbon economy inthe design and study of the tube scraper conveyor.In domestic, there is a relative backwardness in the study oftube scraper conveyor, although its performance was improved in a certainextent after nearly a decade of research, but it still has the disadvantages of loudnoise, small scales, high energy consumption and small application scopecompared with the abroad. In this paper, under the funding of the "Smart Storageand Handling of Shanxi Key Laboratory" construction project, on the basis ofresearch for the imperfect of domestic tube scraper conveyor design theory, weakness of the experimental study design issues such as a lack of judgment, itis necessary to promote domestic development of the tube scraper conveyor.For the imperfect of domestic tube scraper conveyor design theory,according to the bulk materials limit equilibrium conditions, the static forcesacting on the spread of the material in the actual work area of thetube scraper conveyor and the scraper forces of propagation area were analyzed,the scraper limitation pitch was got when the tube scraper conveyor materialswas in limit equilibrium. After, uneven degree coefficient of the tension of thedynamic scraper chain is suggest, the formula for calculating dynamic tensionscraper chain was revised, For the tube features of the tube scraper conveyortrough, the corresponding lateral pressure calculation formula was then deduced,via piecewise functions derived the formula of lateral pressure,by usingMATLAB according to the loadings by horizontal transport of materials, andparabolic shaped or U-shaped distribution was obtained which distinct fromcircular distribution been described in the previous literature, and a formula forcalculating the tube scraper conveyor running resistance was derived. Out of thedilemma of current estimation based on experience or the use of scraperconveyor machine, buried scraper conveyor design calculations theory of thetube scraper conveyor, providing the theoretical basis for the rational design ofthe tube scraper conveyor.Due to the continuity problems in mathematics that required of themechanical analysis software currently used, these software cannot be used to simulate bulk materials movement characteristics in the course of transmission.Overall performance of the tube scraper conveyor is influenced not only by thedesign, manufacture, installation and other factors, but largely influenced by themotion parameters of the material. In order to improve the overall performanceof the tube scraper conveyor, to resolve the current lack of computersimulation experimental design problems, to establish the tube scraper conveyorsimulation model, based on the simulation of the soybean particles movement ofthe macro-transfer process in the EDEM simulation software, by means of theparticle velocity, average speed, the average kinetic energy and the averagetension of the rope distribution curve to obtain the operating parameters of thetube scraper conveyor and to study its overall performance, the problem ofacquisition data through field experiments was solved and an computersimulation method of the design of the tube scraper conveyor was provided.In order to solve in the design process problems of matching the designprocess operating parameters, the TOPSIS multiple attribute decision wasapplied to sort the results of the evaluation of a variety of designs of thetube scraper conveyor to the tube scraper conveyor machine performanceoptimum design. The trends of the advantages and disadvantages of overallperformance in different fill rate were got, a simple and efficient evaluationmethods and evaluation basis are provided to determine the scheme of a varietyof designs of the tube scraper conveyor.In the factory, experimental study on the tube scraper conveyor was investigated, chain tension, noise and motor running actual output power weretested, the experimental results showed that the testing results were consistentwith the theoretical calculations, EDEM simulation and the TOPSIS evaluation.The theoretical study, EDEM simulation and the feasibility of the TOPSISevaluation method were experimentally verified. Providing a theoretical basis,the simulation experimental methods and the design basis for the domestictube scraper conveyor design, data and experience were accumulated.In summary, this paper provided a theoretical support of the design of thetube scraper conveyor. It is important for the development, popularization andapplication, energy conservation and greening of transportation technologies forthe tube scraper conveyor.
