The Research Of Chinese Modern Architectural History Since The1980S

This paper with " Chinese modern architectural history research since the1980s"as the main research object, based on the text analyzing of these papers included inthese12times Conferences on Chinese Modern Architectural History and paperspublished on building journals and the relevant papers about Chinese ModernArchitectura since the1980s as auxiliary research material, this paper presents areview,summary and analyzing of these years’ researches on Chinese modernarchitectural history.This paper contains two parts: the retrospect of research processand the analysis of current research situation.The first part describes the research process of Chinese modern architecturalhistory in the first period (from late ROC to1986) and the second period (since1986).This part focuses on the second period, the research process of Chinese modernarchitectural history since the1980s while briefly introduce the study in the firstperiod.Except following the clue of the biennial conference on Chinese modernarchitectural history, this paper also gives consideration to other milestones andconferences in the field of Chinese modern architectural history. Through summarizingand vertical analyzing on the conference’s scale, theme as well as the basic informationof these papers published in these conferences, it describes the process of the researchof Chinese modern architectural history from gradual carrying out, to set up in the rightpath and then to keep deepening since1980s.This paper also cards some importantissues and particular themes in the field of Chinese modern architectural history,including the basic concepts, the divergence and unify of some problems in thisresearch field, the developing ideas on the protection and reusing of Chinese modernarchitecture and the discipline-building and teaching of Chinese modern architecturalhistory.Making the various informations and the classified statistic of these paperspublished in these conferences on Chinese modern architectural history as major datasources, and papers published on building journals and the relevant papers aboutChinese Modern Architectura since the1980s as auxiliary research material, thesecond part presents the major idea of this paper that “the research of Chinese modernarchitectural history is still in the primary phase wth a significant regional researchpreference" and analyses the current characteristics of the research of Chinese modernarchitectural history from two aspects of, the research results and the weakness ofcurrent research. This paper also proposes some advices on the problems the researchersshould pay attention to and need to improve in the future study of Chinese modernarchitectural history in the deepening stage.
