Xi’an region is the cradle of the development of Buddhism in China, since to passChina at the beginning of the beginning of the Buddhist, became the hotbed of ChineseBuddhism until the Sui and Tang dynasties Buddhism gradually forming six sectarianBuddhism completely. After the Tang dynasty with the eastward shift of the politicalcenter of China, Xi’an Buddhist into a long-term decline, sometimes duringdevelopment, but the scale and extent of the same day with the once brilliant andlanguage. Today, as China’s overall national strength as well as the development ofcultural undertakings, Buddhism appears again revival trend, the development ofBuddhism in Xi’an should seize this important opportunity to explore the advantagesand characteristics of their own development, and vigorously promote their own modernchanges to try to make the Xi’an region has once again become the leader of the ChineseBuddhist revival.The purpose of this research is mainly in three areas, the first is to explore thecharacteristics of the layout and construction of Xi’an Buddhist temple; followed byresearch with the proposed Xi’an the problems in the monastery building; Third, thecombination at home and abroad in Buddhist temples modern newconcept and excellentcase against Xi’an Buddhist temple construction philosophy as well as specificstrategies.Research methods are mainly divided into three steps, the first is literature researchstage to collect and sort out the relevant literature, through early literature research,determine the research object; Second, based on the study of the literature base,expandfield research work, to obtain first-hand information; third step, through the comparative analysis method is combined with the results of the first two to come to theconclusion of the study and expand the thesis writing.Visited in Xi’an more than40monasteries and some domestic famous Buddhisttemple in the three years of field research, and has visited a number of temples, andaccumulated a lot of first-hand information, the monastery of Xi’an layout, builtformtraditional craft practices and a monastic approach to development with a moreintuitive understanding.The main results of the article as the following, first distributed Xi’an Buddhisttemple induction, come to a Buddhist temple in the Xi’an region is divided into flatBuddhist temple, tableland Buddhist temples and mountain Buddhist temple threecategories, and then proceeded to study three types of Buddhist templesforms ofdistribution, including distributed, tandem, as well as three settlement. The article therefore asked the Xi’anregion of the Ming and Qing Buddhist temple in the construction process by showingthese characteristics and geographical relatively closed, has an important strength of thelocal economy and the end of the Qing successive years of war and unrest.Third, the article analyzes the Xi’an Buddhist temple in planning the layout of thestatus quo, and after the founding of new Buddhist architecture since raised issues, the first is too much emphasis on the temple solemn, grand sense of symmetry; Secondlylayout, showing monasterythe unity in worship, Repentance, prayer and other functions;third, in the form of Buddhist architecture is still under the shackles of antiquearchitectural forms, thus showing1000Temple side.Fourth, to address the problem, the article first proposed to lead to the generationof this series of questions, the lag caused because the monastery philosophy andapproach to development, combined with Taiwan, China and Japan in the Buddhisttemples of modern ideas and good practices,monasteries development and constructionconcept for the Xi’an area repair, learning both ".
