The Portrayal Shapes Of Intellectual Images In Seventeen Years’ Literature (1949-1966)

This paper researches the portrayal of intellectual images in Seventeen Years’literature (1949-1966) with the “Mutual Reflection of Literature and History”,combing the shaping process of positive, negative, old intellectual, young images, andthe alternative ones in alternative eyes in detail, focusing to analyze figure images’significance in order to probe in to the relationship of the literature images and thedestiny of intellectuals in historical text. As a result of strength criterion of stateideology, the intellectual images are formulated and conceptualized. Some of themembarked on the path of revolution and construction integrating with workers,peasants and soldiers under the guidance of the Party, in the proletariat revolution andsocialist construction, and in the criticizing and transforming. Some embarked on thecounter-revolutionary path fail to withstand the test of the Party and the Times.Without doubt, in the Flower Times (1956-1957), there were also some intellectualimages comparatively abundant in connotation, who dared to question and criticizethe society and reality, embodying the modern intellectual spirit to some extent.There are six chapters in the paper.On the base of “Between a Couple”, the first Chapter expounds thecontradictions between the literary text and historical text on the relationship ofintellectuals and workers, peasants and soldiers under the novel criticism, and derivesthe flesh-and-blood ties between intellectuals and the (petty) bourgeoisie. Continuousattention and criticism about the (petty) bourgeoisie thoughts of intellectuals inhistorical text were doomed to the strength cratered and transformed intellectuals’destiny in literary text.The second chapter explores the positive intellectuals’ shaping characteristicsand laws in the proletariat revolution and socialist construction, focus on the imagegrowth process and model significance.The third chapter inspects the passive intellectuals’ shaping characteristics andlaws, focus on analyzing the ideology properties of “sex” and “home” in the shapingprocess. The fourth chapter analyzes the old intellectuals transform reasons, processesand results, summarizing the transform modes, discussing the old intellectuals’questions and criticizing in detail related the historical text.The fifth chapter probing the young intellectual training mode, the bothsocialist-minded and professionally competent training target, and going to themountains and countryside training approach in the historical text, summarizes thereasons of simplification of young intellectual growth rules in literary text.The sixth chapter analyzing the alternative intellectual images in the relativelyloose political environment “Flower Times”, discusses the relationship of“intellectuals’ interfering with reality”,“expressions of about to say to return beashamed of love” in literary text and intellectual destiny in historical text.
