This paper takes musical bronze chime-bells as the object to sort out its literature and historical events, explore its characteristics in theory and practice and display its cultural historical phenomenon with more comprehensive view. This paper consists of three chapters, including four main parts:The first part targets at the development of Song Bell Music culture and divides it into three stages in accordance with its own cultural development;The second part researches quantities of existing literature about musical bronze chime-bells, especially digs up JingBu literature of Sony Dynasty and gets a dozen pieces of bronze chime-bells diagrams. These diagrams can provide the most intuitive images and historical records for researching on Song bronze chime-bells. Zouyi texts consist of the main part of the ShiBu literature, which implies that bronze chime-bells Music in the Song Dynasty had gone through several times of controversies and changes. Political context become an important and non-ignored factor in the development of Song bronze chime-bells Music culture. By reference of ZiBu literature in subsection, especially the discussion in North Song Renzong years, the key of the issues is that there is short of the reference of antique chime-bells. In addition, the core temperament method that Later Zhou Dynasty Wangpu made by use of Leishu method has been continued and multiple of standards of collocating and stipulating temperament appear and whether Bell Music can appear in the royal court has been thrown into a constant debate;The third part attaches importance to bell temperament of Song bronze chime-bells Music which was also discussed a lot by Song people. Especially they inclined to focus on the key factors in the discussion and the controversial reasons of the Bell Music’s birth. As a result, the nine inch became the mainstream view of making temperament with Huangzhong and finally, the paper casts an analysis of the impact of uncertainty from Shu on Song bronze chime-bells Music dispute. At the same time, the relationship between Song bronze chime-bells temperament and weights and measures has been clarified to show that the isolated phenomenon of Song bronze chime-bells theory and weights and measures in practice. In the acoustic aspects involving bell temperament, two sound concepts connecting to Song Bell Music, Qingsheng along with Zhongsheng are focused so as to seek to explore temperament making views that what Song bronze chime-bells Music culture reflects.The fourth part involves in historical features of Song bronze chime-bells Music in practice to further identify its types and forms and demonstrates its features in making and using with the purpose of showing historical features of modern Song bronze chime-bells Music culture.The conclusion part engages in overall review and thinking of the cultural phenomenon on Song Musical chime bronze bells, casts an analysis of Song bronze chime-bells Music phenomenon and ultimately further clarifies the significance of the subject.
