A Study Of Ethnic Relations In Tiantang Village

All through these years, ethnic relations have always been an important topic that should be seriously considered and handled by all the countries. China is a multinational country. Different ethnic groups live together, and that creates these area a rich and varied culture patterns. When a nation chooses to live together with other nations in a certain area, the ethnic relations begin to sprout. At the same time that multi-culture forms, the ethnic groups unavoidably make contacts, associations, communications and cooperation or have biases, prejudices, frictions and conflicts. Those are part of the multi-culture. The selection made it an interactive relation of ethnic groups. The ethnic groups share their historical experiences, knowledge, emotion and mood in the cross cultural interaction. It laid the foundation for understanding and also the formation of peaceful and amicable ethnic relations.The study of community is a tradition of anthropology as well as ethnology. Field research is the most important method of both anthropology and ethnology. We have made many detours across the century. The tradition of field research and files are irreplaceable and shall not be abandoned. China is now at the period of transition, urbanization construction and acceleration of building new socialist countryside never stops. Villages are now going through the metamorphosis, and the ethnic relations plays a very important part in the transition.The article selected intermingled ethnic village as field and put it in different level of culture to make study. It reflects that when various cultural forms combine with village, ethnic relations find the media for construction and the place for development. By interaction between culture and ethnic relations, it shows the patterns of multi-culture in villages. Also, it brings about suggestions for anthropology and ethnology study in village.The article consists of six chapters.Chapter one is the introduction. It made description, analysis and remark on current situation of village community study and ethnic relations study; pointed out the research content and purpose of this article; listed the theoretical framework used in the research; and the breakthrough point of writing.Chapter two summarized the basic situation and history of ethnic relations in Tianzhu Tibetan Autonomous County; described and analyzed the selected field in details from both natural and humanistic perspective.Chapter three made analysis, explanation and discussion on cultural patterns of village and culture combination in order to find out how ethnic relations construct and develop in means of livelihood and residential patterns and how the three factors affects ethnic relations. Chapter four made analysis, explanation and discussion on cultural patterns of village and culture combination in order to find out how ethnic relations construct and develop in languages, religion and marriage and how the two factors affects ethnic relations.Chapter five made conclusion of ethnic relations in Tiantang village from4respects:the essence of ethnic relations, the features ethnic relations, the process and development of ethnic relations.Chapter six raised several suggestions on the form of ethnic relations, ethnic relations and development Tiantang based on content review of above5chapters.
