Mongolian school Education has played an important role in training Mongolian personnel, inheriting Mongolian culture and achieving the development of the Mongolian nation. But in recent years, more and more Mongolian students give up learning their native language and select to study Chinese language in Han schools. This phenomenon generally is known as "Escaping Mongolian for Han". This phenomenon has led to the development of Mongolian school in trouble and Mongolian culture inheritance in crisis. In Inner Mongolia, studying the Mongolian language and understanding Mongolian culture should be conducive to the development of Mongolian students, but why they give up learning their national language and culture? How did this phenomenon happen? The previous studies on the phenomenon mainly focused on the experience research and the interpretation of its hazards. Many studies are fastening on the linguistic point of view, and focused on analyzing these matters only in school. The analysis in-depth to the causes of this phenomenon is less. Therefore, the dissertation wants to research the generative mechanism of this phenomenon by field work, comparative research methods and so on. The study is a inter-disciplinary research from the perspectives of culture, sociology, pedagogy etc.Through the investigation of the current status and historical development of this phenomenon, I try to predict the future trends of the phenomenon, to analyze the form and characteristics of the phenomenon in different historical stages, with intention to extract the affecting factors to this phenomenon; by comparative analysis similar phenomenon with other minority ethnic school, to reveal the universality of this phenomenon, to highlight the value and significance of the study. On this basis, this paper focuses on the generative mechanism analysis of the "Escaping Mongolian for Han" through analyzing the affective factors and the relationships among various factors.Through this research, this paper argues:First of all, the "Escaping Mongolian for Han" phenomenon is common in Inner Mongolia, and has been existed in the course of development of Mongolian school education; it shows different form and characteristics in different historical periods.Secondly, the "Escaping Mongolian for Han" is a cultural fusion phenomenon, with the accelerated process of modernization, it will become increasingly serious. In fact, this problem exists in all minority school.Again, this phenomenon is an inevitable result under the interaction of some factors, such as system, schools, families, students.System includes the formal and the informal systems. The formal system mainly refers to the various national education policies and regulations. The formal system plays a leading role in helping minority students to choose what to study. The informal system mainly refers to the cultural transformation, it has been an important impact to Mongolian students to choose schools, for instance, the proportion of the Mongolian population structure, the characteristics of Mongolian culture, which potentially play an indirectly role in promoting the Mongolian students to choose where to study.School is also an important element for Mongolian students to choose their native language. Compared with the general schools, the lack of Mongolian characteristics is less attractive to Mongolian students who require a sense of belonging to their own nationality; in addition, the relatively poor quality of teaching in Mongolian school has also made the students choose the general school.Mongolian family is the most direct factor. Family structure, the costs and benefits of education, and their parental social class also affect how the Mongolian student to select. In Mongolian school, individual student is the main body to select; their own psychological factors and their values will also affect the student’s choice. Finally, the various factors, which cause the "Escaping Mongolian for Han" phenomenon are not dependent, but interact and play together in different historical periods. This study suggests that the "Escaping Mongolian for Han" phenomenon is the utilitarian tendency of individual choice behavior for the Mongolian students. In future, Mongolian schools must properly highlight their characteristics. In order to solve this problem and fulfill our training objectives, we should handle correctly the relationship between the Mongolian culture and the mainstream culture, nationalism and modernity, which is the only way that the Mongolia school education go to future and achieve the development of the Mongolian culture inheritance in schools.
