From the development of history, school sport is not only the result of thespecialization and professionalization of non-institutionalized sports, but also the specialactivity which form the practice of cultivating people, and its essene is the practice form ofcultivating people. In institutionalized school field, sport is “physical education”, and itsvalidity comes form the practice of cultivating people. In the framework of “cultivatingpeople”, the school sport, whose real intention is physical education, contains the educationobjects of “intact people”,“integrated development people”, and it is the important forcefor prompting the intact and integrated development of people. Therefore, theinstitutionalized school sport is the education form which revolve around “people body’sdevelopment”, and prompt the integrated development of people.Different from non-institutionalized sports, school sport is the sports activity whichpeople must accept in the schooling stage, and it not only the special form of sports, butalso the import component element of education. By spreading knowledge, cultivatingvirtue, training skill, institutionalized school sport not only shape the human body, but alsoprompt the total quality of people. So school sport can exert its special value of cultivatingpeople, and prompt the intact, integrated, sustainable development, and have thecharacteristic of instructiveness, basic, entirety and systematicness.Today, in the process of “cultivating people” of school sport has many problemsbecause of some factors: we makes school sport as “traing machine” of body for utilitypurpose, and train people’s body skill in order to serve the selection and training of athletesspecially, so there have been alienation of process and weakening of meaning production.These problems make school sport formalization and can’t achieve substantive effect. Inorder to prompt the development of school sport, and realize the object of people’sintegrated development, school sport needs:(1) have “intact people” consciousness inconception aspect;(2) seek reform and innovation to realize value transition of“cultivation” from“discipline”;(3) try to combine with the life and form the externalpower for long-term development.
