For the majority, higher education is the final stage of their full-time schoolingand their last chance to receive a systematic physical education. How to explore new model of physical education? How to be more effective in physical education? These are important questions for the reform and development of advanced physical education.This study uses several types of research methods, including literature, the Delphi and experimental method, questionnaires, and interview surveys to excavate the meaning and essence of sport education model in aerobics in universities in order to promote the reform and development of physical education.The study conclude as follows.1、The sport education model in aerobics used in Chinese universities are composed of the objectives system, teaching process, teaching strategies, teaching evaluation system.2、The objective system includes the development of aerobics techniques and fitness, increase of the awareness of aerobics tacts, understanding of the rules of aerobics, enhancement of the sense of responsibility, development leadership, team cohesion, and fair competion, and cultivationof lifelong awareness of sports.3、The Teaching Process includes season scheduling and teaching content.4、The Teaching Strategies are class management and behavior development, selecting teams, defining student roles and duties, designing competition, and making sport education festives.5、The teaching evaluation system includes the assessment of aerobics techniques, exercise intensity, knowledge, fulfillment of roles and duties, and fairness of competition.6、The sport education model will increase moderate to vigorous physical activities (MVPA)and enhance student’s fitness.7、The sport education model will spurstudent to participate in the aerobics class and thus improve the effectiveness of student physical activity.8、Most students were positive of the sport education model and the achievement ofits objectives.The sport education model has many advantages to achieve education objectives. It will be worthwhile to be used in aerobics classes in Chinese universities.
