From1983to2012, the amount of foreign students in Japan increased by13.2times, from10,428to137,756, and the number is still growing. Receiving foreign students has an important significance to Japan’s education and society for its globalization process. It helped increase the mutual understanding between students’home countries and Japan, foreign students and Japanese educators, foreign and local students, and therefore establishing an interpersonal network. The Japanese students’horizon was broadened and Japanese society was more vibrant. A more internationalized university contributes better to the global community. To further deepen the mutual understanding, additional assistance is necessary. It involves more than language education, or quality professional education curriculum that is on par with local students. More importantly, administrative support and counseling service to the foreign students’life in Japan shall be enhanced. The author believed such assistance to foreign students is the basic foundation to actualize mutual understanding and establishing relationship.Japan has already become a low birth rate and aging society. Economist and politician pointed out that this has created recessions in every aspect of Japan. The author suggests that Japan has to nurture high-end international talents by recruiting the foreign students. These students could play an important role in contribution to the Japan society and its sustainable development. If the foreign students shine at international level, it will be even more meaningful to foreign student education of Japan. To achieve this mission, a solid education system is needed via reformation on foreign students’education content, including Japanese language. The objectives of this paper are:first, to review Japan’s foreign students’education history and learning environment to explore the method and value of modern international education. Next, to analyse the employment issues of foreign students via survey. Last but not least, to elaborate the potential opportunities for foreign students in their study, employment and social living in Japan. Through analysis on improvement of foreign education, the future of foreign students’education can be understood.
